Somebody told me Cooney is far more skilled than Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua and that Cooney would destroy them.

Does Cooney beat both of them

People in this forum are idiots. he's telling me Cooney has achieved more than Aj and Fury just because he went 13 rounds with Holmes. Holmes is undoubtedly an all time great who I'd favor over Aj but lets be real Aj destroys Cooney. Holmes isn't a powerpuncher which is why he didn't knockout Cooney sooner

More skilled no. But prime Cooney would be a tough fight for either of them.
Fury on his A game would have too many angles and too much range.
Joshua however could get caught by Gerry mixing it up. And I’ve see enough of Joshua to know he doesn’t take it to the body all that great and that was Gerry’s bread and butter. Good fight.

Fury has the boxing skills and chin to beat Cooney. I see him stopping him in 12.
I'll have to think about AJ!

After a few seesawing rounds,AJ drops and stops Cooney. Joshua carrying more power in both hands.

Tyson Fury picks Cooney apart before stopping him. No contest.

Besides beeing able to hurt AJ, Cooney is in no business against those two.

Gerry Cooney had the power and delivery mechanisms to hurt them both. Problem is he couldn’t take it very well in return. And these are two fights where for once in his career he wouldn’t have the size advantage. I think he loses to both of these men barring a big lucky shot ( which could happen. )

Cooney has more of a chance against AJ. But AJ has proven to be consistent, which Cooney wasn't. He's more well-rounded. But you can't write off a big man with a hook like Cooney had that easily. He'd really have to come in at top condition though.

Cooney would be the second best name on Joshua's record. That's how shallow his record is. No doubt the bout would take place in London.
