Possibly Similar scenarios though Although the sausage didn't have a win on his record like the Pringle tin does
I hear ya! Man, that would be pretty insane. Could be the upset and mix up the HW division would need. We need an active champ. No more trilogy fights please. Especially when Usyk is up 2-0 on two of his possible three last opponents.
If Rico and Prenga fought in an Albanian forest, and one of them got knocked out, and no one bought a ticket, would anyone hear it?
If that's the comparison that's pretty damning for AJ. I was hoping for at least someone on Mahks level. Not sure how this prepares him for Fury at all other than a false confidence boost.
Not all fights are made for preparation for another. In fact, with the different dynamics and styles fighters have, most actually aren't. The prep for the next opponents usually comes in training campo bringing in guys. This would be more a 'rust remover' and to see where their guy is.
Anthony Joshua fought four months ago. And every week he posts a video of himself in the gym training in whatever country he's in this week or working out with Usyk. He doesn't have rust. He had no physical injuries from his car crash worth noting. He was immediately released after a period of observation. He's been traveling the globe constantly. Working out all the time, demonstrating how fit he is. I don't even know if this guy he's fighting is better than Jake Paul. Nobody knows him. He was on no one's list of possible opponents. Joshua "bottled it" again with this opponent. Joshua's own team must really have zero confidence he can beat anyone at this point.
A confidence boost of any sorts can do wonders I mean I'm not really comparing but others will curse the fight despite not realising it's purpose It's awful for paying viewers, no doubt about it but him and his team believe it's required They'll know more than me and you This fight isn't in any way for fans of boxing, it's what him and his team want firstly Anyway signed now..
There is absolutely a lack of confidence right now but his team and him seem to think this is the way to go in order to maybe restore some confidence I mean Wilder recently did similar after his two loses
Ok cool, he's working out. Training is not the same as fighting. You don't thin he has rust while working out wioth his new trainer. Cool. I don't pretend to know everything or assume what I say is some "fact". I at least have the humility to admit what I am not privvy to, unlike many here. You know AJ better then he knows himself, obviously
Wilder was coming off two losses and a shoulder surgery ... and he's in his 40s. Joshua won four months ago, got in a car crash where he came out physically unscathed, told the world he was fighting Wilder next ... And then signed to fight the ONLY ALBANIAN heavyweight with a loss on his record. As I said in another thread, there are nine active Albanian heavyweights. Eight have no losses. Only one has lost a fight, and it's the guy Joshua signed to face. So Prenga might be the ninth-best Albanian heavyweight (out of nine in the whole world) ... They're fighting Prenga instead of fighting Wilder ... like they said they would ... and got MOUNTAINS of press for saying they would. They always bring up Wilder when they KNOW THEY AREN'T going to fight Wilder, and need to build some press interest for Joshua. Only this time, Hearn admitted Wilder was "too risky" on camera.
You thought he was fighting Wilder next, too ... and defending him against me and others when we said he wouldn't. They got you interested, too, then pivoted. Because every time they say they're going to fight Wilder next ... they don't. We're up to like the seventh or eighth time now that they've done this. It's a well-established pattern. Even pushing 41, Wilder is too "risky" for Joshua's plans. Even when they say they're fighting him next.
