Depends if anything was agreed beforehand whether AJ was gonna 'set up' the fight. If nothing was, it was an ambush tactic by Fury, and personally AJ dealt with it pretty cool. With both their characters on show

It's very easy for anyone in hindsight to say what he should have said but it was flung at him and obviously didn't go perfectly

I still maintain he did the correct thing in not following Fury and Turks narrative

 

Netflix are the ones who need to strongarm AJ into this bout.

Does anyone really care about AJ Wilder? Skysports will broadcast it? No Turki support $. Eddie Hearn crapfest? Not interested.

 

How is accepting a challenge acting like a wimp?

Refusing to give a clear answer about whether or not he'd even fight Fury at all is the wimp move imo. Tables turned id hold the same opinion. But we can agree to disagree.

I don't get why he doesn't just go for it at this point. His career is coming to an end. It's not like he's going to have many more fights anyway. He could still make a big payday from it, and if he somehow won, it could help him post-career with endorsements and business ventures as well. But, yeah, he has always seemed afraid of Fury and Wilder. All these guys have seemed to cherry pick opponents carefully except for Usyk, minus this upcoming Rico fight.

AJ/Wilder isn't as big as AJ/Fury but it's still a huge fight. Silly to pretend otherwise Miniq.

 

With Turki sitting next to AJ all night ringside surely this was expected though.

I don't think snubbing Turki is gonna work out nicely for Hearn and co. But we'll see.

 

Sometimes we have to acknowledge the elephant in the room: Joshua's brand is irreparably damaged by losing to Wilder or Fury. They both present a huge risk of loss to an already mentally fragile fighter. It's unappetizing, and has been for some time. He can make insane money facing the Jake Paul types, and he can take a life changing beating facing real boxers like Dubois. He's chosen his lane.

 

I cannot believe mongs expect Joshua to go into commercially the biggest fight of his career off the back of beating Jake Paul and a fatal car crash.

Do you people have complex issues of the mind or are you just dumb?

 

If Joshua is feeling a certain type of way about personal stuff, then don't show up and sit ring side inviting a call out - the exact type of callout that has happened every year in boxing for 80 years - because you want people to give you space. Don't show up. This is the hurt business. A gladiator sport. If you have personal issues that require sensitivity, figure it out and then roll into the arena posturing like you're ready to gamble legacy.

No one is going to show up at Joshua's house banging down his door demanding he fights so and so. If Joshua shows up to the arena talking about how he runs the sport and he's a landlord, he has forfeited any sensitivity around how his personal life may affect his boxing career.

And it might not work out to well for them but both have enough money to not really give a crap
