Anthony Joshua claims the fight is 1 step closer

I don't get it, I thought Eddie said they had 4 or 5 offers to host the fight.

Now we have 1 official offer?


Maybe I'm confused, somebody explain this to me.

 

I have no idea, I think the deadline was 50 minutes ago.

Hearn looked stressed and agitated when speaking about it the last few days, I'm not sure what's going on but he said something about Fury might just move on if the deadline passes or maybe he will give them another two days or something..

I think this may just be a ploy to try and stretch the deadline a couple more days.

 

They are no closer than they were six months ago.

 

Well the usual brinksmanship is going on here, of course, but it's tricky to nail down a venue right now given the state of the pandemic in many countries.

 

Hopefully this means it's going down and not he's running away

I was gonna make a witty joke about Mayweather....but I didn't. I'm trying to make better choices.

 

Wasn't the big announcement supposed to be today? Getting tired of having my chain yanked!

 

Hearn just phoned up some billionaires and oil sheiks and asked them if they'd want to host the fight. They were busy and just said "Yeah, Mr. Hearn, I'll think about it, bye!". Then he went and told Fury and his team he has a ton of offers on the table. This is Hearn working "as hard as he can".

 

Because they're not delusional and understand that there's no one willing to cough up the money in the current situation. Arum said he has Vegas as a done deal basically, just needs signatures. But the thing is he can't deliver the insane money Hearn is talking about, so none of the fighters will sign. I doubt this fight happens in the summer.

 

Well maybe the fighters understand that Hearn is bullshitting them and sign to fight in Vegas. Although I doubt Hearn will let Joshua do that. But if Hearn really does manage to find someone willing to cough up the money just for the prestige then fair play to him.
