Anthony Joshua getting stopped by nistor

    This is a link to a report on the fight, I still believe that Joshua has a good chin an this was his first major tournament and he could have been overwhelmed as nistor comes at you head on and can cause anyone problems.

    Has anyone seen the video of this fight or have information about it and how he looked when he was stopped

    I saw Camerelle beat Joshua, outboxed him rather easily, but was cheated by the criminal judges............................

    Not a good sign when you're stopped in the amateurs.

    Really a bad sign.

    Anyway, there are various factors involved, and that loss could really be meaningless and pointless.

    He could have been rushed without expecting it, his opponent was stronger and more experienced, he was caught by surprise, lucky punches, etc..

    A video footage would help, but a quick research didn't lead to anything.

    David Tua was brutally KO'd when he was an amateur and went on to have one of the best chins in pro boxing.

    You have times in the amateurs where you have teenage kids going in against some Cuban who is in his prime, and stuff like that happens.

    He only had 4 years boxing experience going into the 2012 Olympics I believe, took up boxing after the 2008 Olympics.

    Well it was two standing counts according to that article so he wasn't even dropped. Without seeing the actual fight it's hard to say if he was seriously hurt at all. He had some tough fights in the Olympics and took some decent shots. His chin seems OK no real evidence yet to suggest he has a poor chin.

    Stoppages in the amateurs isn't always a bad sign. It depends upon how he was stopped. If you're cleanly KO'ed with head gear and amateur gloves then yes it suggests you're chin may very well be an issue. But if it's standing counts then being stopped on your feet it suggests a defensive issue more than a chin issue.

    Lennox Lewis was KO'd in amateurs by Abajan, Bowe was KO'd by Gonzalez (yes the same whom he KTFO'd later). Tua was KO'd by Savon.

    Lewis became great HW. Bowe and Tua were never stopped as professionals. So it doesn't mean much I think.
