Yeah, but it's really weird that he is doing all that when they threat him like a traitor.

Loma is holding really well. I hope he will not dissapoint.

Maybe he just doesn't want to be treated any worse.

I'm guessing you're familiar with the accepted historical tale of Ali the heroic conscientious objector, 'I ain't got no quarrel with no Viet Cong' and all that? The gushy write-ups and ostensibly disquisitive television documentaries aren't going to tell you that Ali was just being a good boy and doing as he was told, that he was scared rigid of Elijah and the NOI by that point (much moreso than he was of the US government), that he'd seen what happened to Malcolm and knew what the old man and his goons were capable of.

I guess if it's good enough for the consensus heavyweight GOAT, it's good enough for Usyk.

I don’t know a great deal about the geo-politics of the region - but prior to this conflict, Usyk was definitely of the opinion that they were all Slavs and as such should not be fighting.

Not that it matters too much but he seems insecure/nervous to me.

Was Usyk supposed to be 15 kg heavier, so almost 260 lbs, according to Khan? They both look to be around the same size as last time. AJ maybe a few pounds heavier.

AJ hasn't got the mentality for top tier boxing. Why is he fronting on Usyk? what purpose does it serve?

He's done alright considering he doesn't have the mentality. Plus he's taken immediate rematches in both of his losses. Some fighters prefer to feast on a few bums or Albanian taxi drivers when they're making a comeback.

I think mentality is a little less of the a problem but his physical flaws in terms of footspeed, chin & stamina are real hindrances and he knows he cannot fix them.

I mean, not being an absolute Elite boxer are hindrances against Usyk regardless. AJ has done well with the tools he has. He's a tryer. I can't hate him for that. I think he lacks self confidence under pressure, hence why he has been seen on several occasions asking his corner for advice when things aren't going his way. Either that or he overthinks everything - a common problem with boxers is that as they go up in levels they try to change / overthink instead of sticking with the attributes / instincts that got them where they are.

    He hasn't done well

    Gifted gold
Boweld over by a fat man on 3 weeks notice
    Knocked over some old folks
    Almost died against Wlad
    Decimated by a middleweight

    Translation:

Won Olympic gold 4 years after putting on boxing gloves for the first time
Lost a fight (like 99% of boxers)
Beat top 10 contenders and mandatories and unified his division
Overcame adversity to beat the dominant heavyweight of the past 20 years
Was beaten on points by the P4P #1 fighter in the world.

Sorry but AJ is nothing more than a hypejob bodybuilder crossfit bum. Joyce, Wilder, Usyk, Fury are all better.

I'd put him second on that list behind Usyk. Fury is retired so isn't in the conversation.

I hope Usyk keeps the ‘tache. He looks badass. I also hope he lays AJ flat

As an Usyk fan (I’m British) I am worried about the power and ability to stop a hurt opponent Joshua has, but I truly believe that Usyk is one of the best out there and want to see him succeed.
