I want to see him come back. I'll be honest I gave him flack for the loss but that doesn't take away from what he achieved regardless of how much help he got. He came to boxing late and achieved more than Fury and Wilder put together. That's one helluva resume.

Hey fellow kiwi, I don’t think it’s a 50/50 fight. I think it’s like when Lewis lost to Rahman , it’s crazy to me that after 1 loss everyone is calling for the fork cause aj is done

It's strange, AJ ate much bigger shots from Wlad, Whyte etc.. I simply don't think he wanted to fight that night, he wanted out of there - Unmotivated? Feeling the pressure too much? Maybe he was just dying for a s***?

That's it! A fully motivated and empty bowelled AJ wins the rematch via Brutal KO.

It goes both ways I see.
Some compare him with the likes of Wlad, Lennox and Louis (ATG heavyweights), expecting him to come back better as ever, while others (more of them) write him off like he's the second coming of Seth Mitchell.
The truth probably lies somewhere inbetween, and probably more towards the bigger names.

It's just the typical fairweather mentality of people that call themselves boxing fans but do more to put others down and say I told you so than actually take time out to enjoy the sport they're watching.

Joshua's loss was a pretty emphatic one and on the biggest stage, so it makes sense for people to turn on him, but I maintain than we can never write anyone off after a single loss, no matter how terrible that loss might be. I'm looking forward to seeing how Joshua performs in the rematch. I can't believe that someone who beat Wlad, Whyte, Parker and Povetkin doesn't have it in him to beat Andy Ruiz, so I don't see it as a foregone conclusion at all.

Just think how underrated he’ll be if he loses the rematch.

I think its devastating to lose to a shorter fat guy, theres no telling what type of damage that would do to his mentality.

people just hate someone who is successful.

if wilder or fury had the same carreer as joshua it would have been the same.

people hate for the sake of hating.

Some of he biggest nights of boxing the past few years has been because of AJ

He's not a bum, the backlash is simply a pendulum swing. His biggest fanatics were being very annoying and already proclaiming him an ATG HW, so of course the fact that he was pummeled and stopped by semi-heralded competition is gonna be used as weaponry against them.

Joshua is still likely a top 5 HW currently and I'd pick him over mostly every HW out there, however from this point on everyone is gonna severely test his mettle. As for him going into an immediate rematch and dominating Andy, that's doubtful. This wasn't a lucky shot he got hit with. He was outboxed, outcountered, and outgunned vs. Andy, he'd have to make some serious changes to his gameplan and serious changes don't take place like that in immediate rematches.

Am i supposed to be impressed that he comes back and beats the fattest tub-o-lard mexican i've ever seen in my life (thats saying something cause i live in Texas) ??

Get in their with Wilder or stfu.

Avenge the loss and stay on that island and fight Price, Haye, etc.

Things could get downright ugly if they toss him in there with Wilder or Fury.

He wasn't as good as his fans believed, but he's certainly better than his detractors assert. His fans have been crowing for years, and now the other side is getting in their licks. It's stupid, but such is the nature of boxing fandom.

He's still a top 4 HW, at the very worst.

It's not that 1 loss has changed people's minds, it's that it's confirmed what people already thought

Top fighter. Credit to him, he likes tough fights, hence why he’s a star.

Hopefully he makes the needed adjustments to up his game further.

AJ is once again the betting favorite, yet the margin has narrowed markedly. 4/11 currently.

(I know you didn't mean betting odds, just throwing the 'wisdom' of the bettors into the discussion)
