just to play devils advocate, that was 2 years ago....and Price has still yet to beat anyone in the top 20 before or after those losses...so beating Price isnt really an epic feat. a 25 year old guy the size of Joshua with a perfect record, perfect knock out percentage against a 44 year old guy whose lost 2 of his last 4 just doesnt look that appealing better fights out there
The reason I proposed Thompson as a potential opponent is that we know he can perform well against tall, powerful opponents, he can counter punch, he has a good defense and a lot of experience. Also consider the fact that he's fought in the UK before and he takes fights like this when offered a decent pay. It's difficult to find a decent opponent for Joshua at this point. Imagine a guy at his prime or a decent prospect, he can completely ruin the guy's career while not offering a huge payday. You won't be able to get most top 20 guys in the ring with him at the moment unless Joshua receives a mando status as Wilder had vs Stiverne. I mean people mention the likes of Povetkin, Wilder etc, that's surely not gonna happen anytime soon.
Medzhidov would prob beat him again, savon would school him again and camarelle would beat him again by UD. Joshua was never anything special , he's david price 2.0.
Just like another british hype job David Price was going to KO Tony Thompson. Joshua is a british hype job, he lost his first fight in olympics and then lost 2 more. He's a KO waiting to happen
Lucky for him Savon and Cammarelle-who's been defeated by Povetkin 4 times- have no intentions of turning pro. Of course, Joshua is better than he was back then, but we still have no clue how he'd do against someone with good boxing skills. Medhzidov on the other hand is really gonna shake the HW rankings after Rio2016.
unfortunately for the reasons you stated, it will most likely be against Thompson....just wish we didnt have to wait 4 months for it
