    Yeap.

Ruiz can take AJ's best shot yet AJ cannot handle Ruiz's shots. There's nothing that can be done about this, besides avoiding the obvious. And some are in denial about this being some sort of key. Pro tip, anytime you come at Ruiz, you better expect to get it back two times.

Joshua is delusional! He can't stop Ruiz, no punch resistance what so ever! Should have taken that generous offer Deontay kindly offered him. Now Al Haymon and the bomb squad gonna let that disgusting blob out of the sewer! And set him on that big stiff bodybuilder! Lol.

he makes too many mistakes when exchanging.. he doesn't bring his hands up, he's susceptible to the left hook.. over and over again... we've seen it... I can't wait for the rematch. I hope they announce it soon.

unusual for him to say he will, usually hes methodical in his speech, "if he does A, then B will follow"

Yeah he can be, it's not out of the question in the future but I don't think he beats Ruiz in the rematch.

I have watched Ruiz Vs AJ a few times, it wasn't a one punch finish, it wasn't a fight AJ was dominating and he got unlucky.

AJ couldn't cope with the speed or the punches in bunches, Ruiz has a very legit chin, AJ doesn't, Ruiz has proved he has the power to hurt AJ and AJ proved he can drop Ruiz but I don't think he really hurt him and he isn't throwing better shots than the Left that put Ruiz down and the right hand straight after it.

But I'm moving off topic, yeah it's possible, AJ is young enough to pick up another world title, I wouldn't say it's an outrageous claim.

AJ has a decent chance in the rematch.
But, based on what we saw last time, I expect Ruiz to win.
AJ can improve certainly but Ruiz seems to have a lot left in his tank too and he had AJ's style figured out.

LOL! I think he can drop Ruiz. He did it once before. Maybe we can agree Sometimes in a rematch, the losing fighter throws caution to the wind.
My best example is Joe Louis, even though he got clocked over & over with the same shot, he didn't correct it next fight, he just brought hell to Max's doorstep from the start of the bell.
Same with Paul Williams rematch Quintana. He still had clumsy footwork, wide open for counters, but because he came out like a dog on fire, Carlos didn't see what happened till it was over. 1st fight? PW never hurt Quintana even though he landed flush, go figure.
PW took flush shots from Martinez, didn't wobble. Next fight he stared intensely at the canvas eye ball level at that!!!

I admit, Ruiz took some flush shots & kept chugging, but that doesn't negate the fact that AJ may be able to study what he did to drop him, & start off on fire, not on fleeing on his back foot.
If he's calculates? OK, I'm down and say AJ loses. But if he comes out like a rabid dog & throw caution aside? Stoppage is possible. especially an early/bad stoppage to get the belt back in the hands of a potential cash cow.

Realistically though, what else are his media team going to make? They've got to get the narrative in place for the redemption story.

I'm sure he is very focussed, but this is hardly groundbreaking stuff - totally predictable use of media actually. It's the logical way to play it.

Some very good examples and points.

I actually think AJ's best option is to go "Full Klitschko", jab and grab, it will be exceptionally boring, he will get criticised and hammered by every rival, Boxing fans and the boxing media but he will be a world champion.

The reason I suggest these tactics is if you watch the first 2 rounds of the fight, AJ didn't pick up on or understand Ruiz' triggers.

The triggers for Ruiz were the Left Hook and Straight Right Hand, AJ leans in heavily with both, his upper body comes over his front foot, so the force and motion leaves him in a vunerable position, he can't just sway back or slip, he is too big for that, so as soon as AJ threw either of those shots Ruiz tried to unload.

If you watch it again you'll see when AJ jabbed, Ruiz didn't really throw a right hand or left hook, Ruiz sometimes tried to jab with AJ but didn't put himself in a position to be countered or leave himself open by throwing out of range left or right hooks.

Ruiz understood distance and understood the timing of AJ.

The only time Ruiz made a mistake and left himself open, AJ dropped him, when Ruiz got up he was buzzed, slightly slow on the realisation that AJ was throwing left hooks and right hands, then he woke up and started throwing with AJ again, literally it took Ruiz a few seconds to realise AJ was right were he wanted him.

AJ has to keep everything long, boring and basically unexplosive, just jab jab jab, let Ruiz walk in to shots, don't over commit and lean in with heavy punches and leave yourself in the danger zone, let Ruiz' forward motion make the impact powerful, do not use his weight and size in those opportunities.

AJ has to bore his way to winning a rematch.

Yes, I actually think this is Joshua's best bet.
I'm not convinced it will work but going for a punch-perfect pressure stoppage EARLY is probably the best move for him.

I don't think he can outbox and outsmart Ruiz and survive and win a long fight or a 12 rounder, I think Ruiz picks him apart.
Ruiz probably picks him apart if he comes out aggressive early too, but it's still his best chance.

Problem is, he's never done anything like that before.
The closest was the Parker fight, where he was aided by a referee who broke the action when Parker wanted to trade up close, and aided by Parker's preference for boxing on the backfoot.

If you had only applied yourself properly AJ, you would STILL be the Heavyweight Champion of the World. However, you did not. So, instead of saying it, just do it man. Doing so will prove that you are truly a Champion.

In fairness to AJ, Great Champions loses and win back their titles even more than once like Ali, Pacman, Hearns, Sugar Ray, et al.
AJ is working on getting it back already. HE looks very eager and hungry to get it back.
So if he win back his belt, I'd give him FULL Credit :campeon:
