Yeah I agree, it's a gamble that could backfire. I'm not suggesting AJ suddenly turns in to Floyd Mayweather..

If AJ starts out boxing, jabbing, jabbing, keeping it all long, with a tighter defence and it isn't going well, or it isn't working or he just doesn't feel comfortable then sure open up and be aggressive but that comes with obvious dangers and risks after the first fight.

AJ has to mature a little also, maybe be more disciplined, similar to the way Whyte was against Chisora in the second fight, Whyte hurt Chisora very early, first round, but Whyte steadied himself, didn't rush in wild, took his time, didn't over commit and AJ has to have a similar mindset.

AJ dropped Ruiz with a almost perfect shot and Ruiz got up, AJ then hit a buzzed Ruiz with a great right hand, leant in full power and Ruiz walked through it.

This idea AJ just walks in, goes full steam ahead and blasts Ruiz out is exactly the attitude and game plan that got him dropped and ultimately stopped last time.

I am just thinking what is AJ's best chance of winning? What strategy? What type of style?

What's the best chance of him walking away with those belts because performance means nothing now, it's all about winning those belts back whatever the cost and the cost will have to be reputation.

I believe AJ will have to box, will have to bore his way to victory.

If it goes down in the U.K, knowing Matchroom, they'll probably move to get the inconsistent and super lenient Ian John Lewis appointed as the referee. That way, Joshua can hold, rabbit punch, hit low and punch after the bell until his heart's content, and get as many little breathers as he desires, all without warning or punishment.

    Boxing is 90 percent mental.

Does AJ really want to be back in that fishbowl with all the bright lights shining on him? The closer he gets to the fight with press conferences and such, how much will he be reminded that winning brings back all of those things? How will he react to all the must-win pressure?

Not only Lennox, but also Wlad. Wlad was destroyed by Corrie Sanders, Sanders dropped Wlad 4 times in 2 rounds. Then a year later Lamont Brewster stopped Wlad in 5 and everyone was calling for him to retire. During the broadcast Lampley said he has no chin and needs to retire, RJJ said he had no heart and his career was basically over. Klitschko was 28. He then went on to win 22 consecutive fights over 11 years and made hundreds of millions. Good thing he didn't listen to the so called "experts" and fans and instead believed in himself and his skillset. Amazing career turn around.

I was never a fan of his to begin with: I tend not to take a liking to Uncle Tom fakes.

he did kind of listen though, switching to facing mostly a lower level than before, fighting with the rules on his side, though he did have a few noticeable wins too.

If Wlad had done a Lennox resume run instead he'd have still been getting koed every other fight.

Aj really just needs Emmanuel Steward. Just went down that youtube worm hole recently. I have an article written on Lewis vs Tyson that I can't post until my laptop is fixed.

He would have been great for AJ. Manny was amazing and one of the best trainers in boxing history. Boxing really misses him. He was a brilliant boxing mind. Manny's HW fighters had a combined record of 34-2-1 in title fights.

He taught tall better than any trainer in history. Anybody who can call Lennox Lewis a f***** to his face and not wind up out cold is bad Motha-shut-your-mouth.

Could you please explain what it is about Anthony Joshua that makes him an Uncle Tom? Seeing as you have no problem labeling him as one.

I think you bring up a good analogy. While I like AJ personally (I believe he is a good ambassador for the sport and is a first class professional), I am not an AJ fan per se. However, he is a talented boxer and has a good team. I still believe that he got caught with a "lucky" punch from Ruiz and could not recover (thus why he asked his corner why he was feeling off). I do not think the same result will occur in the second contest. I look for AJ to be busier in the first three rounds. He will certainly be motivated. After he wins, all the naysayers will move on and he can finally get in the ring with Wilder for the contest that we all want to see.

Could he be taking about his T-shirt size? Like reducing his muscle-boundedness to fit into a 2x for the weightlifting title?

Absolutely not Lucky. He was getting the better of AJ from the opening bell. I'm a big fan of both, Ruiz fought a perfect fight and nothing can discount his ability to possibly do it again. If he out hustles and Tko's Joshua again I'll start calling him a Kingslayer.

It is due to Joshua selling out the essence of who he really is, in order to portray the role of the smiling, amiable chap who exhorts people to "stay humble" and tries to please everybody. I'm sure he has a mind of his own, but is fearful of using it to express his true, non-media polished opinion on crucial matters for fear of upsetting Eddie Hearn and his many sponsors.

If a person tries to please everybody, they please nobody, and only really succeed in becoming an enemy to themselves.
