AJ as we know him turns pro on January 1, 1950. Does he replace Marciano and Liston and Patterson?

No…he does not. Especially without steroids. The stamina was to good then. Guys like Marciano and Liston would just out work him. Ingo would be an interesting fight. Think he beats Patterson.

Josha would certainly be a danger to everyone due to his size and range, even without steroids he is huge and would be a problem for anyone...

This is probably the case, though it'd be interesting to see how Liston would react to taking a flush right hand on the chin from AJ "as we know him", meaning the roided version that the OP suggested. Lesser guys (Ruiz for example) have survived it and went on to win. I'm assuming Liston would be able to as well.

I would have said yes bar Liston but I felt the fight against Dubois told us a lot about AJ these days.

I think Joshua is pretty shot at this point

People were acting like he entered a second prime before the knockout. If he was shot at 34 without anyone realising it, what does that say of his best wins?

Beats everyone without much issue except Liston.
With ‘non-modern nutrition’ he’d be like 220-230lbs or something.
Guys like Cleveland Williams obviously have a puncher’s chance, but I don’t consider it a decent possibility that he beats Joshua.

Joshua will have the same problems that he has had in his current career. Once in a while he will have an off night. Between Marciano, Liston, and Patterson he might very well beat at least 2 out of 3 of them but then get beaten by some second tier fighters from that era if he has an off night.

Also back then it was 15 rounds. Joshua’s gas tank is not the best. Once that knowledge is out guys will take him to deep waters and drown him. He said it himself: He is not a 12 round fighter. Imagine him doing 15.

Also back then fighters did fight more often. I believe it was before the Ruiz loss that he kept going on about he was tired and he needed some rest/break from Boxing. So how does he deal with a more busy schedule?

I think he will produce some sickening KO’s and when everything lines up for him he can beat anyone. But he will get knocked out as well. Pretty much like his career now.

AJ would be the best opponent Liston faced when taking into account his level of skill combined with his size and strength. AJ is better than Cleveland Williams and bigger, too.

I think he was finished by the Dubois fight so I don’t hold that too heavily against him. But that said I don’t think his resume is that good. Best win is probably a 41 year old Klitschko who returned to the ring from retirement and very nearly beat him. A loss to Andy Ruiz and beaten twice by a very talented Usyk but one who was up there in age and migrated from a lower division. The rest of his wins are the Ruiz rematch, Dillian whyte, Joseph Parker and an old Povetkin. Not a terrible career per se but not exactly ATG material.

Who else could he have beaten (that he didn't lose to)?
