If Joshua is such a fraud why does he have the best resume at Heavy?
If so what does that say about the likes of Fury and Wilder?
    They're rhetorical questions.

Yeah he is a fraud. I mean, he got busted for nandrolone, has only fought 2 good heavyweights, had 7 fights in 7 years, 3 against guys who don't even box any more, has been in arbitration twice within the last year, did coke, has only 1 title defense in 7 years, avoided all of the top contenders and is currently trying to skip his mandatory.

Oh wait, that's Fury who did all that.
But he's NOT a fraud right?
    My bad...

No he isn't. He's fought LITERALLY the best opposition he could.

He could have ducked Usyk but chose not to. He's fought a number of top 10 fighters.

It wasn't his fault the Fury fight fell through, and I believe Wilder just plain ducked AJ, which he basically admitted to.

I think AJ is definitely HOF. Not ATg, but HOF definitely. For beating Wladmir and becoming unified. He's been in some big fights and draws in massive crowds.

It's all accurate until we get to this point:

"He does have the best resume in terms of depth in the division"

How many points do you lose for losses, embarrassing losses and losses with the deck stacked in your favour? How many points do you lose for being a "KO artist" who hasn't KO'd anyone early for 5+ years (Molina). How many points do you lose for always being a big favourite, getting multiple gift stoppages, fighting men well past their prime, inactive, short notice, completely untrained or who are small and/or light punchers? Where are the slick movers and southpaws, aside from Usyk who beat him? A careful examination of AJ's resume reveals it to be vastly inferior to Fury's.

"Wlad, Povetkin, and Pulev were still good fighters at that point and worthy of their lofty rankings"

Pulev was not remotely dangerous (pointfighting strategy, no real belief) and hadn't been looking good in his previous fights against lacklustre opposition in Dinu and Booker. He was also 13 months inactive on top of that.

"Even his wins over much lower level guys Breazeale, Martin and Molina would be/are considered top wins for Bum Dosser Deontay"

Breazeale isn't even one of Wilder's 5 best wins by my estimation. Wilder was heavily protected until 2018 and very heavily protected until 2015 but in the last 3.5 years he's fought a higher standard of opposition than anyone in the division and although he's lost twice badly to the champ, he never came close to quitting and had him down 4 times in 3 fights.

He's a good fighter no doubt, but when you see people talking about him beating Ali, Frazier, and Joe Louis that's too much thick smoke for what he's accomplished. Plus, if he goes down again to Usyk his stock all time will fall faster than stock in Enron, Sears or JC Penny.

    What a dumbass thread.

Avoided Wlad? When Fury beat Wlad, Joshua had just beaten Gary Cornish, and in his next fight fought an utterly unproven Whyte for the British title.

And Joshua later fought Wlad, after Fury didn't fight Wlad in the rematch.

A fraud, in what way ? I’m not a fan of Joshua or Fury, by the way.
Who exactly has AJ avoided though ?
He has been overrated in the past, but has the best resume in a weak division.
Nobody truly rates Wilder, yet Fury fights him 3 times & his wins against him are seen as on a par with him beating Klitschko in a borefest of a ‘fight’ !

Anthony Joshua isn’t a fraud. He’s a good fighter, just not an exceptional fighter up until now. He could turn that around if he beats Usyk and Fury, although I wouldn’t for a single second suggest he’s favourite against either.

Boxing hype being what it is, was broadcasting Joshua for something he wasn’t, he was a good fighter in a fairly substandard era. Quotes from
Hearn saying he has the best resume in heavyweight boxing over the last 40 years or something similar was non sensical, and simply not the truth, but quotes like that doesn’t really help the hype train.

If you look at his accomplishments he’s done well, he’s won an Olympic Gold medal (from my hazy recollection I didn’t think he deserved the nod but he got it) he was competitive at least. He has has won world titles, fought in huge arenas on big shows, he has done well, but because of the tremendous hype, the dodgy under armour advertisements he was being made out to be something he isn’t. But even being in these fights, and having those opportunities, proves he wasn’t a fraud, he simply wasn’t an Audley Harrison.

I think you understand the point he's making.

Joshua was overhyped and people bought in to him like cultists.

When I saw him nearly lose to Wlad I thought he was the next Michael Grant but was fortunate to have been in the ring with a much lesser fighter and way past his prime than a prime Lennox Lewis.

Ruiz confirmed everything I suspected of Joshua, and Usyk put the last nail on that coffin.
