Well that's a turnaround from his position after he initially lost.

My thought was that he was clearly distracted in the US for the that fight, he spent more time in the build up talking about his new gym he'd built in Miami and showing rappers nobody has heard of around his mansion in Miami than talking about Ruiz. But AJ after the fight tried to reshape that image of events into the fact he simply lost to the better man.

Now he's back tracking saying nope he was distracted or was less than prepared, well duh anybody with two eyes and two ears who saw and heard his build up for the fight knows that.

I think the rematch proved he was the better fighter, he underestimated Ruiz first time around and it cost him dearly, it was meant to be the first step of him conquering America and instead it just framed him as another glass jawed Brit in the mold of Bruno and pre-Steward Lewis. From that moment to the end of his career he'll be the guy who lost to a morbidly obese Mexican.

In a way I'm glad he realised what he did wrong as hopefully he doesn't repeat that mistake and take his opponents for granted. But back tracking like that and not showing any respect to Ruiz for what he did also shows a level of arrogance that could again lead to complacency.

Yes Joshua was vulnerable but Ruiz still had to take advantage of that and make it pay off. The idea that all you need to be is focused and you'll win is a double edged sword. Sure it means you'll be prepared for what you know is coming but it also means you maybe underestimating what is coming because you believe being prepared is enough to always win. If you just prepare for victory then you can't prepare for the unexpected, prepare for defeat and you'll have a better chance of avoiding the pitfalls and surprises like Andy Ruiz being able to take your best punch and out fight you on the inside like nobody else has previously done.

Ruiz looked awful in his last bout so I don`t want to see a match between AJ and Ruiz, let him fight the winner of Usyk v AJ a far bigger fight against a far better opponent.

Looks like he can and did say it without consequence so not sure what your "isn't allowed" gripe is. Should people also appreciate bring called fat?

Sigh. At the end of the day Ruiz is not the toughest opponent Joshua has faced.

Joshua had a bad night, and he didn't make excuses before.

This isn't really an excuse is it? It's just him being a bit cocky/arrogant.

At the end of the day Joshua has taken worse punches before and survived.

This is a non story as AJ did not say that and he was taken out of context. He always gave Ruiz credit for his victory and still does.

When you're Joshua's height 99% of the population is small compared to you.

Lord Clint was a legit 6'4", watch him standing close to Ali and it's obvious that he's slightly taller than Ali.

Despite all of Joshua's humble cover, I see an arrogant person. I hope Usyk shuts his arrogant mouth forever.

By the way, Andy Ruiz Jr is a better boxer than Anthony Joshua.

Andy is very highly talented of course.
Andy does have flaws: he is LAZY:D and ( very ) leg lazy boxer. Ofc short reach for modern HW division.

AJ is a very dynamic boxer and was beating Ruiz before getting careles, however Usyk is a better boxer than both of them.
