Alright, yeah, replace Muralimov with Oscar "Kaboom" Rivas. (loads of h2h potential, although Boxrec places him all the way down at #73 on their heavyweight list... I skipped over the likes of Dominic Breazeale, Joey Dawejko, Andrzej Wawrzyk etc that were rated higher on the list, because those guys all suck)
Nah... Medzhidov was more than capable of actually knocking people out in the amateurs. To get hit by him clean and keep your wits about you is a positive.
Cannot wait to bump this thread when that fraud inevitably gets exposed when he steps up, because mark my words he will. All those people calling joshua a superstar, the best ever talent in the division and a monster will be looking very stupid just like those price fans who I warned from day one was a overhyped bum. Their promotional teams have done exceptional jobs brainwashing the boxing world that these two big stiffies with no defence are the saviour to the division. To the point some have already accepted that Joshua is champ in their minds, because he made putting away some bums look easy.
I know, his Dychko KO was:scaredas::scaredas::scaredas:, I'm a big fan of his, I wish Medzhidov would turn pro, although he's getting a little old to make an impact. But there are guys who hit as hard and probably harder, and he won't have the benefit of headgear, that will knock Joshua out cold, and I like AJ.
I too hate when a boxer bounces. It's not only useless but even harmful in how it makes you stationary and burns stamina and fatigues the legs. Also it makes me nervous watching it. If i was a trainer, i would buy a bb pistol and shoot my fighter every time he tries to bounce. Like training a dog.
Its impossible to say until he's In a meaningful fight. Don't know how good his stamina or chin or his ring IQ are yet
So Wlad was bouncing in the Pulev fight but I suppose he doesn't know what he is doing. Its quite obvious the people who know what they are talking about and the people who don't.
I like AJ but he shouldnt have won the gold medal infact he should have lost in the very first round and he has a bad chin which we will soon see
Joshua is really good, Wlad, Haye, Fury, Povetkin, should beat him today, but against the rest of the top contenders I give him a pretty legit shot or favor him. Thing is he is still improving so he might become the 2nd best HW fighter, after Wlad, sometime soon. I believe he is ready for the D. Price showdown after Sprott. Hearn should make that fight for early 2015. The fans will love it, big revenue to make and it will shoot the winner up to the top of the division. Another nice option might be Kayode for the interim WBA belt, which may be vacated soon. Chagaev is looking for an opponent and Joshua could generate the money to entice Chagaev's team. I would bet on Joshua to win that fight. They are talking about a lousy fight with KJ, but that does not add anything to Joshua over Sprott and Bahktov. Take Briggs then, at least it will make some noise, plus he is ranked #7. After that he could fight Se xton for the British title, KJ as stay busy(deserved rest) or Browne for the Commomwealth. Plenty of good options, IMO.
Yeah i noticed it and it bothered me immediately. Wlad was clearly nervous and tense. He knew Pulev was a serious potential danger. He has had 15 (15!!!) sparring partners in his training camp just to be ready for Pulev, and he even injured himself in excessive training. Pulev landed more punches than Povetkin and Haye combined in 24 rounds, but most importantly he was having success with the jab and with timing wlad. After the fight, Wlad has a small lump under an eye, wich is something that never happened to him in 5 rounds. Wlad saw that Pulev had some success. In the first round he carried him when he could have finished easily. But in the later rounds, he tried his best to blast him out ASAP. And he was nervous and jumpy. It doesn't mean he don't know it. It means he couldn't help but do it, like all the jumpy fighters do. And it was a mistake, yes. That a lot of champions or former champions, unfortunately commits. Ugly as all hell.
Common habit, a lot of world class boxers do it. That doesn't mean it benefits them or isn't potentially detrimental.
Agree that his being deserving of medalist status is dodgy, but on what are you basing saying his chin's bad?
Well yeah, he won't be ready for Klitschko until a couple of years after Klitschko's gone in all likelihood. That should remain in the domain of fantasy match-ups. Timing just isn't right for it.
