Perhaps to manage and lower expectations. He must know his last fight was rotten against Franklin, his performance was very stale and he was actually worried about punches being landed by a feather fisted heavyweight. Usyk may have taken away his aspirations as well as his titles.
When was the last time Joshua fought that quickly after a fight? He's been a two fight a year boxer since 2016/17
I wonder if this is spin to try to keep customers who have not signed a 1 year agreement with DAZN UK ? I heard some wild numbers the other day and AJ will be a huge idiot if he takes a summer fight.
Does AJ get in the ring with Wilder?! He’s made a tonne of cash, does he risk his last fight ending with him KO on the canvas Ricky Hatton style? I’m sure Hearn wants that Saudi cash out but if I was AJ I would have a couple of tick overs and go out on a win.
It depends what version of Wilder turns up. Let's not forget he looked quite chinny against Fury and has been very inactive.
But I thought Joshua wasn't fighting until December and would only fight 2 times in the year ?
It dawned on me that if the Saudis bid huge for this "tournament" idea, there's no guarantee the fights will be on any particular network. DAZN squeezing another one in between would be wise.
Yes, DAZN would probably like to have a AJ fight this summer, but I don't believe it will happen. AJ may risk losing and then a lot of money will be lost...
Would be great for everyone if Joshua fought in the summer before December regardless of the opponent. Don’t see it happening though. Any cut / slight injury and there would be a huge amount of money lost.
If he is fighting in July / August I hope it’s on regular DAZN again and not DAZN PPV. I doubt it though.
