Honestly he should accept he is a different generation and by the time he is going to peak and be ready to take a heavyweight belt and defend it that Wladmir will have retired. Judging from his size/physique and performances thus far his route or key to success lies in the hands of what the Klit borthers have shown throughout their careers I can already see Joshua is going to have troubles when he steps up to the top level. Luckily for him the heavyweight divsion is so weak that he's already a top 10 fighter EASILY. The problem is Joshua is just too big...way too big. . He'll never be a 12 round fighter with his size but that is why he needs to learn to control the pace and his opponent so he can keep the workrate low Shame Emanuel Steward isn't around anymore RIP
"Mr Vitali, please give up your job as mayor of the capital city of a war-torn country to teach me how to throw a better jab. Pretty please."
To early to say if he does have stamina issues. He's the same height as Wlad but weights less so Wlad is bigger, he just doesn't have an as imposing physique. McCline was also the same height and even bigger and went the distance several times. As for using Vitali and Wlad. Vitali has his political career and has no track record as a trainer, being a good fighter won't make you a good trainer, completely different skill sets. Having the knowledge is only half the equation you need to be able to communicate and teach to be able to pass on that knowledge effectively. So no guarantee Wlad or Vitali could help Joshua at all. Joshua's current trainer Sims is an unknown quantity and that concerns me. We've seen amateur stars turn pro before with their pick of trainers and just end up with a yes man who does nothing for them. But McCracken was an unknown quantity as a trainer before Froch and look what he has achieved. To early so say if Sims can be the man to take AJ to a world title, we'll hopefully see AJ tested against Johnson and that will give us a better idea of his progress.
I'm sure last night when joshua was struggling against that truck driver, I overheard sims mouthing ''just hit him'', so I don't think he is on the same level as McCraken who is a master of his trade.
He looks like another Frank Bruno to me. He definitely has too much muscle and is liable to gas badly after 6 rounds, just like Bruno did. No one knows how he will react when hit and whether he can adjust his style to be more economical with his output like Wlad learned to do. You can recover from brutal losses and gassing out- Wlad proved that...and still be a long and great champion, so it is a very good suggestion for him to at least get some tips from Wlad.
He also looks a bit like a Bruno to me, very impressive build and all that but im not sure being quite so big and bulky is good. But then again as i keep saying he looks like a boxer who has lots of potential but DEFINITELY looks like a boxer who has only had about 10 pro fights and a limited amateur career.
He's already bigger than the biggest version of Wlad, at 25. He's gonna have stamina issues. But he's already way better than Wildest.
All these experts here again... We haven't seen him gassing so far so no one can pass judgement on how we fares in the later rounds. Furthermore Wlad has roughly the same height and weights even more. As long as he perfoms well and doesn't have any stamina issues he is NOT to muscular. Your optical preferences are irrelevant to his boxing. Jonathan Banks IS a trainer! He trains the current heavyweight champion of the world. You might have known of Wladimir Klitschko. He doesn't need to be a good boxer himself to be a good trainer. Steward has never been a boxing professional but made it nonetheless to one of the greatest trainers ever.
Who else does Banks train?? Nobody. He's a trainer only in title, but really he's a friend who shares the same religious beliefs as Wlad and the former Steward. If anything he parrots a few of the things that Steward would say....and really at this point Wlad doesn't need a trainer, he knows what to do and how to go about doing it. Wlad employs him only because he trusts him and Banks can make decent money without fighting. It makes sense for Wlad, why bring in someone from outside the circle who will just screw up a proven method? But let's not kid ourselves, Banks is not a real trainer.
