Anthony Joshua needs to rematch Ruiz and fight him in the pocket for 12 rounds

Ruiz needs to get back in the mix with a quality W. If he can do that, then why wouldn't he deserve a rubber match w/ AJ?

As others have stated here, why does AJ get to "roll the dice" as many times as he wants to get the desired outcome? Then it's AJ "the great" and let's move on. Many great fighters have fought trilogies. If AJ is so great, why does he get a special pass? AJ would rightly be a heavy fav in a Ruiz 3 fight. As for Usyk, I wouldn't give 0-2 AJ another fight... maybe as A side and for tons of $.

No honest AJ fan should deny this.

The scared UD does not equate to what Ruiz did.

For people bringing up Fury, Fury literally said after Wilder I that he wasn't happy with that (robbed UD) because even though he outboxed Wilder, Wilder dropped him badly and in the rematch he needed to hurt Wilder, stop him etc. And guess what, Fury did that and got payback.

AJ is honestly such a coward that he can't go toe-to-toe with a barely 6ft obese LHW(at best) with low HW power. Honestly, it's shocking. He is the ultimate schoolyard-bully fighter. He had all the MASSIVE physical advantages but couldn't handle fighting Ruiz, who isn't even a big puncher.

How do these AJ apologists live with themselves, it's incredible.

I'd like to see a third fight between them and I'd like Joshua to fight it in his usual manner. So far I agree.

But it has little meaning unless Ruiz actually does something in the division. He's had two fights in the last 4,5 half years, both times against old, past it fighters. Against Ortiz he did the bare minimum and had a laughably low output in several rounds.

Beating Ruiz when he has showed as little commitment as he has since beating AJ five years ago wouldn't do much, even if it came by KO.

Which is probably why those that dislike AJ want to see it. If AJ KO's Ruiz, he has just done it against someone who checked out mentally five years ago and whom he shouldn't have lost to the first time. So whatever happens he gets no credit.

It's the same with those clamoring for AJ to meet Wilder now. Even if he KO's Wilder in the first, it will just be dismissed as a KO over the old shot left overs from Fury.

Hrgovic and Parker are the really viable opponents for Joshua now. Ruiz won't be interesting until he actually is active and gets some good wins. If he for example beats Parker in a rematch, yes, but that fight doesn't seem to be anywhere on the horizon.

Nah Ruiz needs to get his face out of whatever feeding trough he's currently head first in and get back in the ring because right now he's totally irrelevant.

But he's too busy fighting his wife in court to get into the ring any time soon. He's literally not been mentioned as a possible opponent for anybody with the division right now in overdrive with Saudi money making the best match ups in years. I doubt he fights in 2024, but he'll no doubt make a come back once his wife has taken him to the cleaners in court.

Should run it back as I've said a few times.

Let's face it if Ruiz can't be motivated for this and the ludicrous amount of lucre on offer he really is finished.

Ruiz should rematch Chris Arreola and prove that he is indeed superior to a 40 year old, washed up Arreola.

Id rather see Ruiz fight Big Bang Zhang in the pocket.

That would be fireworks for a few rounds

    Who would go down first?

As far as I'm concerned they're 1-1. A wins a win, and until Ruiz becomes more active he doesn't deserve another shot.

There is nothing to gain for AJ fighting Ruiz. You must be a big fan of Ruiz because NOBODY is calling for a 3rd fight. Ruiz brought a style to AJ that he wasn't prepared for in the first bout. AJ then went back to the gym and trained for that style and the 2nd fight wasn't even close. I don't know what you are referring to in that bullsh*t "1.5-0.5" nonsense you pushing.

AJ doesn't have any critics pushing for an Ruiz trio. Actually because of his last performance, his name is back in the discussion of facing Fury. You seriously know nothing about the sport if you think AJ is just a "body builder" with gloves on..... So, what is Ruiz, since you are so short sided.......Funny how AJ's physique gains him a tongue in cheek critique, but you don't display that same energy to Ruiz's physique......

Again, there is nothing to gain by fighting Ruiz a 3rd time. It's not intriguing to anyone but Ruiz fans. And clearly the results of that match up would have no weight in AJ facing off with Usyk for a 3rd fight.

He should drop his hands and let Ruiz punch him nonstop for twelve rounds then knock him out with a telegraphed haymaker with ten seconds left in the final round.

And the fight should be in Mexico on Cinco de Mayo with all Mexican judges and referee.

Even then AdamT wouldn't give him any credit lol.

Fury fans really get a hardon for trilogies.
