AJ fought 4 times since Ruiz last entered the ring. If he had been active (maybe appearing on one of these big Saudi bills) then a rubber match with AJ would make sense while Fury vs Usyk plays out. But as things stand, I can't see it happening. AJ has bigger and fights against tougher opponents open to him at this point than Ruiz.

In the 4 1/2 years since Ruiz showed up even more obese than usual against Joshua and was completely outboxed he has had 2 fights. One against an old way over the hill Areola and another against an absolutely ancient Ortiz. And both fights were close.

Until he shows up well against someone not old enough to be a grandpa (or great grandpa in Ortiz's case) Ruiz deserves diddly squat.
