Wilder never wanted the fight with Joshua despite a record pay day for him he only picked Fury because he was an easy scalp. Hearn & AJ wanted Fury more than Usyk Hearn realized after Ruiz blattered AJ that he needs to sell him off quickly Usyk was the nightmare scenario which they almost avoided.
The mega mega money this fight would generate, along with that now commonplace rematch clause and yet another big payday, is plenty reason on its own to wanting to be in the opposite corner to Fury on fight night.

Joshua would have no chance against Fury but he clearly wanted the fight. The narrative that Joshua didn't want it is pretty absurd considering he tried to make the fight on 2 or 3 different occasions
