Not an easy call. Prime for prime I'd give Fury the edge as he one of these guys who was able to compensate for his shaky chin with amazing recuperative powers. Yet, that is one of the things that tends to diminish greatly with ringwear - something likely magnified by his lifestyle. Joshua also hits harder. But his chin is also diminished with age and was never as good as Fury's. So to me this is a toss up, basically a matter of who gets a good shot in on the other guy's fragile mandible. Gun to my head I'd say that's Joshua, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Fury blast him out like Dubois did.
Fury v Joshua is now the proverbial 2 bald men fighting over a comb. Apart from loot for both grubs who are already huge multi-millionaires with no chance of spending their loot if they lived to 500 years of age, there is no point.
There's no mention of AJ going for a world title anymore. His only ambition appears to be the Fury fight. Pretty sure he said he'd likely retire after this year so if thats the plan, ive no issue with the Rico fight, just aslong as he doesnt get a title shot off the back of it.
Joshua isn't going to face Usyk but his old stable mate has a voluntary defence he can make of his WBO title, but I don't see Joshua going for that, he'll face a gimme early in the year and then face Fury later on in the year, hopefully over in Riyadh if it has to happen.
They don’t care about belts, it’s all about money now, so the Wardley fight isn’t enough of a reward. Another gimmick fight then Fury then done.
I completely agree with you there. He won't get in the ring with a live pulse before facing Fury. Only good thing is by end of 2026 we may never have to hear about either Fury or Joshua again, besides when it comes to who owns their souls and we know that honour belongs to Usyk.
Sadly you wouldn't bet against it. I'd say there is also a chance that the winner of a fury Joshua fight will be manoeuvred into a title fight, on the basis of name recognition rather than genuine sporting status.
I might have missed it, but little has been made of Usyk’s team being in Joshua’s corner, no sign of Davison!
Feed him to Fabio, so I can see him get smashed to pieces, due to him being so weirdly, overtly happy and arrogant about taking 6 rounds to knock out a novice who is half the size of him and lost to Tommy Fury. The little throat slit at the end...Oh, you're hard, chinning a novice half your size, 6'6 big man. IQ of an artichoke.
This is actually a super fight for non-brits who most have likely only heard of him in passing. Very interesting fight, Rico has a similar chin to Fury gets hurt but recovers well. He will train with Peter Fury for this if it goes ahead. Whilst I expect Joshua to win by KO this is not easy, a real banana skin before the Fury fight (final boss).
