If 1/9 is underselling Povetkin then out of 9 fights vs. AJ, he would win more than one. Honestly, I think 1/9 sounds quite accurate.
AJ doesn't fight that way and won't need to hold on.. Unlike Wlad , he has an inside game. He also has a totally different temperament and mindset than Wlad. He wants to wipe out the opponent and doesn't shy away from a fight , whereas Wlad was terrified of one.
Both of those guys are pretty good and I'd say that Povetkin just about whitewashed both of them. He won by a long stretch. The problem against AJ is the size and youth factors. Sasha will have to train very hard and very smart for this one. He has the skills edge by some margin.
You mean like he did against Parker? Parker was a very dull safety first performance. Explain that away Capo.
The ref is to blame for not allowing both guys scrap it out on the inside. Even the Parker camp admit that. It may have been dull , but an excessive hold fest it wasn't.
If you actually need someone to explain to you how that ref's actions GUARANTEED a safe win for AJ, then perhaps you should never leave your home without wearing a padded helmet.
People said the same about the takam and Parker fights too and got it wrong. Povetkin may be faded but he's no push over and l would still favour him over takam and Parker.
Boxing history has shown time and time again, that guys like Povetkin lose to guys like AJ more times then not. It's just the nature of things. The younger, bigger, stronger man should beat the older smaller man.
He'd have to be banged out and convinced to lay down by being rendered unconscious. Can AJ bang without worrying about getting too tired to defend himself and then getting knocked out himself? His boxing is overrated and if the fight somehow ends up in Russia, boxing alone won't do it.
