Rumour is Anthony Joshua is in the process of setting up his own promotional company and leaving Matchroom next year when his contracts up.

Source = boasting North London close friend of AJ

    True or false ?

He always said that he wanted to do that, but he would be mad to do it until he gets to the top, if he actually does. Hope if it happens he still appears on Sky though as it would be a shame to miss his fights if he becomes a really good fighter as he be extremely exciting to watch.

    Probably true.

What you've got to remember Anthony Joshua's background and blood is Nigerian (not being racist) and they are without doubt the best confidence tricksters in the World and I reckon he's playing Barry/Eddie/Matchroom/Sky milking them for all they're worth then he will kick them to the kerb and set up on his own.

I doubt many tears will be shed.

How long is the deal AJ signed with Matchroom ?

Hopefully it had ,like the Sauerlands contracts, an injury clause which would extend AJs contract at least 5 months after his dubious back injury.

Joshua's problem is going to be whether he can get into the US with his criminal record. If he can't and he's stuck in Europe then he may as well retain matchroom's services.

It's not nearly as difficult as people make out. He didn't physically hurt anyone, so should be fine.

You just need to give the authorities proper notice. Every time Martin Murray has done it, for example, it's been last minute.

Don't underestimate AJs drug dealing conviction he will have great difficulty visiting never mind working in America.

AJs high profile is a great opportunity for the US to make an example of him and deny a Visa.

Getting into America is much harder with a drug dealing convition than it is with any other, he'll not get in there for a fight. Martin Murray struggled but as you said, due to him being signed with the farcical promotional outfit that is Hatton Promotions every time a big US fight came up it was last minute.

He will be lucky if he ever sets foot on US Soil.

AJ will need to lick more a-ss than Eddie Hearn

For someone who is supposedly not racist, you certainly have a lot of issues with a lot of other races

Yup but doesn't that only last a decade after the conviction?
