Doing the rounds on twitter that AJ has pulled out of his fight in July to focus on a "major title" fight at the 02 in September. What do you all reckon?
He has been pulled out with Martin Murray replacing him. Don't think it's that bad really. If he's facing a decent opponent in September then the July opponent would've been a no hoper which he would've earned more criticism for fighting than praise for beating. But apparently he is fighting on Sept 12th so it will likely be on Brook's undercard so I'd expect a Wach level opponent.
I half expected it to be honest, it would have basically been glorified sparring in July and just another win on the record, so I am glad he has pulled out so you don't have everyone start giving him stick for it. As for Semptember 12th it looks like to be Wach but I ant see what title that would be for other than his WBC international championship as the silver I believe is in the hands of Povetkin. And to my knowledge, correct me if I am wrong, but Fury is still holding onto the British title.
I don't really understand that? The September fight was always meant to be a better opponent so why pull out of the July fight unless it's a much bigger fight than expected
This is now a clear ploy by Hearn. Put Joshua is on a card, wait till loads of extra tickets have been sold off the back of him and then announce he has had to pull out, knowing most people won't ask for a refund. Joshua was never going to fight on July, it's just a money spinner for Matchroom. This about the 4th or 5th time this has happened now.
A fight with Wach would be the best possible fight for September. A man who's mixed it with Wlad, has a ridiculous chin, doesn't have the greatest offense but will bang him on the chin and will certainly give him rounds. Stick him in with Wach and we'll learn a hell of a lot more about AJ.
Sometimes in life you need to take a gamble to get what you want. If I was AJ I'd call Fury out now! Wembley stadium sell out would be bigger than Klit fight. Reason behind calling him out now is I think that a fight with Fury now would have nothing to do with experience or ring craft, it will just be a case of who can connect first and who has the strongest chin. A good old s**** more than a fight with sweet science and on that point I think AJ could fast track his way to the top. Just my opinion.
