They aren't having another world's in November mate. He can still improve after turning pro, he clearly did not win that gold as he lost to the man in my avi and had 2 other questionable wins. I think he has talent but was way over hyped before Olympics.
He wasn't that impressive before the Olympics imo, good yes but over rated. A lot of people felt he robbed Cammerelle in the world's and all of that bollex that he was robbed in the final stemmed from the fact it was in the other guys back yard and he lost by 1 point so people who have not seen it put 2+2 together and come up with 5. Watch the fight, he lost, would have lost even more clearly had it been pro rules. I was suprised he didn't join the wsb tbh, so probably pro for him, he will still improve in the pro ranks, he's had more amateur bouts than Deontay Wilder had.
oh yeah sorry mate, egg on my face. i was thinking they were this year, but that would have meant that they were last month. anyway, if i was him i would have went pro. i recon he should have at least went in the wsb
Yeah, the WSB would have been really good for him. Would have been better to go in this year as he'd have got more experience early and could have joined the pros earlier. Not sure what he's going to be doing exactly until the World's.
He won gold but really should have never got past Savon. Cammerelle was straight up robbed in the final, and I saw that as a Londoner.
Potentially this could be a mistake. If he does turn pro, he needs to be well managed and brought along properly, on undecards against the sort of opposostion he learn against. He'll probably end up topping a bill in his first fight against a blown up, 60 year old CW.
This is my worry. As soon as he turns pro, people will be expecting the next great British heavyweight straight away, no mistakes, no losses. Whereas, as an amateur, losses mean very little as the media interest isn't magnified like the pro's. This is were he will learn, in his losses, and the best place for him at the minute IMO is the amateurs.
Bingo. As soon as I clicked the thread I had flashbacks of Audley's debut. Hey, what are we doing Sunday? :conf
Nobody thought he robbed cammarale in the world's you butt nugget, he beat himhandily , stop spreading lies
I'm happy he won a gold for GB but I have a strong dislike for him since I feel Erislandy Savon should have got the victory in that bout
