Shows how much he wants to right Fury that he accepted 60-40, and only 50-50 in a potential rematch if he wins. Fair play to him, I think Fury will box his head off ala Usyk, but he certainly will get in the ring with anyone.

Whispers I’ve heard are that Fury v Whyte did between 800/900k in the U.K.
I’m sure I’ve also seen an interview with Warren where he said he made a profit from it.

I think AJ will have to box 6 - 7 fights on a possibly upcoming world tour to earn the same money he earns from facing Fury.

Being a pay per view star used to have a lot to do with ability but not as much these days.

If two A list celebrities with well known grudges fought, for example Will Smith v Chris Rock or Prince William v Prince Harry, they sell ten times as many pay per views if not more as Usyk v Fury or Crawford v Spence.

    That is quite depressing.

Given how the purse bid unfolded I've no doubt Fury took a deal based on percentage of the PPV, and Whyte was guaranteed his end. That way Frank couldn't make a loss.

None of this makes him a better or worse boxer than AJ or vice versa, but it's an entertaining discussion.

    Hahahah.

    Does anyone believe this?

The first fight was in the UK and had more hype behind it, yet didn't do anything near 1.2

Totally agree - I care little for the business/politics side and just want to see good, competitive fights. Having said that I'm fully aware the business side exists (as we are taking about professional sport), and this element does determine what fights get made and don't unfortunately. Just seems that Boxing nowadays is more business than a sport in my opinion.

But if the business side of Boxing interests a lot of fans and they like to follow that side as well as the actual sport, then who am I to argue :)

I skipped it due to the undercard but I wasn't really noticing massive hype for it in the weeks before. If they did those numbers that would be very good going, especially without Sky pushing it as they did Joshua.

AJ is a commercial juggernaut that’s for sure. Fury Whyte did 700K apparently

it is worth notable that AJ v Usyk 2 was SKY

AJ is great box office attracting. but will he be as well with DAZN? especially now on 2 losses?

he probably needs the Fury fight to push DAZN to casual audience. but also DAZN might possible be the only roadblock to the fight being made now
