Well, I did, and at the bottom of the op post it clearly state: "It means that either Joshua fights Usyk first or fights Fury without the WBO belt."

So, that is what I believe should happen. Defend the IBF against Pulev while Fury takes care of Wilder III, and then make Fury-Joshua without the WBO belt.

I don’t believe that, the belts does matter to some extent. Sure, a fighters resume and who he has defeated is the main thing, but belts matter. Especially with the fans who don’t follow boxing as closely as we do in here.

If you have a fight and you can put “Heavyweight Unification!” in the billing, I truly believe it makes a fight more lucrative.

My first question is, what’s Usyk done as a heavyweight to be given such a strong position?

The blokes had 1 fight against a fringe top 20 heavyweight who was on the verge of retirement.
He may not get past Chisora, there’s at least as much chance of him losing as there is Joshua losing to Pulev.

If I were Joshua/Hearn I’d tell this jumped up promoter where to go and if the WBO want to devalue their Belt by having an unproven Champion they can go suck salty balls too

Does it devalue the belt? I'm not so sure.

The WBC seemed to do ok from keeping their belt separated. It ensures that when their guy fights the WBC is front and centre. Whereas in Joshua's fights the WBO is just one of four on his arms. Maybe the WBO would quite like the attention when their champion is the only one out there with a piece of the pie that the big star doesn't have?

Held by a bloke with no credibility at Heavyweight thus devaluing said belt!
Might as well let Usyk fight that Charlo fella and pretend they’re the pinnacle of Heavyweight supremacy while the rest of the sporting world sniggers and watches Fury, Joshua & Wilder

The WBO granted him an immediate title shot based off of their rules. Unified CW champ moving up gets that shot. It may not be the best of rules, but it is the way of the WBO.

Ta for the clarification I was also wondering how on earth Usyk was given such a strong position.

Point is that Wilder held that green strap for years fighting second and third rate opposition. Lot's said the belt was devalued, but the WBC didn't seem in any hurry to enforce better opponents or push a unification?

Maybe they figured having their belt on its own was better for them than having it sit as one of three or four?

No. I don't know what year you think this is, but the "Wilder doesn't fight anybody argument" died at the end of 2017 ... which coincidentally turned out to be the last year Anthony Joshua looked any good.

In the last three years, Wilder has defended the WBC title against highly-rated WBC and Ring contender Luis Ortiz, the world champ Tyson Fury, highly-rated WBC contender Dominic Breazeale, and the highly-rated WBC and Ring contender Luis Ortiz again and the world champ Tyson Fury again.

It's 2020. Wilder will fight the best fighter in the division Tyson Fury TWICE this year.

Anthony Joshua will fight once, against Pulev, who no one cares about.

So enough garbage about Wilder not fighting anyone. Wilder will have fought the best heavyweight in the world THREE TIMES in less than two years.

Meanwhile, Joshua is getting wasted by Andy Ruiz and then running for his life against him in their return. Usyk hasn't fought anyone in two years except Chazz Witherspoon. And Pulev is struggling with Rydell Booker.

Wilder has fought the best opposition of any heavyweight over the last three years. Catch up.

He sure as hell hasn't been facing the likes of Rydell Booker, Chazz Witherspoon and Andy Ruiz. (LOL)

Step aside fee ?? Let's Usyk get acclimatised to the weight with another fight or 2 also. Could be good for both, but Joshua's gonna lose to Fury

Oh great another obstacle to a real heavyweight championship fight

So either a paper champ and a lost chance at total unification

Or we have to wait even longer for the biggest possible fight

Usyk debuted at heavy when? October 19? Doesnt Joshua get a yr to face a mandatory? So it's a yr in october but covid happened I think that delay should tack on. And let fury and Joshua negotiate a fight with him after their fight

It will likely be Usyk - Parker for the WBO - as discussed on here before.

Usyk is rushing into this fight. Why's he going after AJ so quickly? He fought a mediocre opponent that tells him nothing about how he'd do against a tough contender or one of the champs. Seems to me he's taking a chance here because he wants to avoid a disaster in a preparation fight.

I think it’s a good thing for the HW division if the WBO belt is scattered and Usyk can fight another high ranked contender for it.

We need some fresh fighters to compete over belt(s)

At the moment there is a never ending carousel of shot to **** 40 year old contenders being passed around like a joint in a party. Mainly because these 40 year olds are a relatively low risk, compared to a young hungry contender at their athletic peak.

We need the younger blood to come through now. The likes of Hrgovic, Dubois, Yoka, Ajagba, Sirenko etc...

I don't believe you've read my post thoroughly enough. See below:

"They are there to make money and a boxer only benefits in commercial terms by slinging a belt over their shoulder, not in legacy."
