Aside from Cooper dropping The Greatest like a sack of potatoes with his vaunted ''Enry's 'Ammer,'' it was also plain to see Ali was feeling the weight of the much lighter man's punches everytime he caught or even grazed him and if Henry could drop the iron-jawed Ali he would surely spark AJ out cold in a round or 2. He also scored one of the most brutal KOs I've ever seen @ the 2:51 mark This content is protected
Joshua would be the favorite, but if Cooper manages to clip Joshua clean with his hammer he’d stop Joshua.
Joshua would be big fav, but prime Henry does have a theoretical puncher's chance with that left hook of his. If AJ keeps his guard up, he very likely wins.
Cooper is best remembered for that 1963 bout with Clay and yes he decked the Louisville Lip, however the left hook connected as Clay was showboating in his avoidance of Coopers previous punches and basically he ran out of ring to escape "Enerys ammer", it was not a lucky punch in fact it could be said Clay fell into Coopers planned trap. Henry Cooper was a sound boxer and possessed a good left hook, but fact is his career was littered with 14 losses, some to decent champion boxers like Ali, Patterson and Johansson, but also to the likes of Erskine, Bygraves and Bates, not taking anything away from these fighters but they sure would not have been in upper echelons of boxing in any era. I think a version of Coopers manager Jim Wicks quote about Sonny Liston would be uttered in relation to facing AJ "I wouldn’t let Our ’Enery in the same room with him, let alone the same ring.” AJ wins by ko or the ever present risk of stoppage due to Cooper cuts
AJ`s punches are harder than the shot Cooper dropped Ali with, Cooper didn`t have more power than Povetkin and would have to get inside AJ`s 82 inch reach to land these jabs and he just didn`t have the head movement to be able to do that.
Na the Povetkin KO over Whyte was far more devastating, plus Cooper`s punches would be slowed down by the addded pounds he have to put on to fight as a modern heavy, his body looks very frail compared to a modern heavyweight.
Povetkin's KO of Whyte was both beautiful and brutal in equal measure but Cooper's was x-rated and ugly. Cooper wouldn't need to bulk up. 185lb Cooper cracked one of the greatest chins of all time and came within a whisker of stopping him.
I did, I've done so many times before, and I will be continuing to do so for the foreseeable future too because that's how real men roll on the streets of my hood.
