Joshua has fought a bunch of chinny and washed up guys compared to what you would expect for a former Olympian in their mid 20's. I'd give him credit for getting through these fights if he had little amateur expierience.
Joshua leaves his chin out when throwing his wild combos, has a poor chin for world level just look at his amateur fights and I feel there should be big question marks over his stamina.
People talk about Joshua getting rounds, either Johnson comes to survive and Joshua has a spar for however many rounds, or the more unlikely Johnson engages and almost certainly gets stopped. Either way, he's not getting rounds the way the Chisora of a few fights ago would give you. The best outcome of this fight for me is a mid to late stoppage, meaning the level of competition has to move up, although the hype will go through the roof. He should be looking at a Thompson type opponent next. If you spend your whole career comparing yourself to David Price your not going to go very far, better learning from his mistakes.
Neither Lewis nor Wlad have great chins at world level and have being arguably the two most dominant heavyweights ever. As for stamina the proof is in the pudding but something tells me a prospect as valuable as Joshua wouldn't be allowed to have poor stamina.
He's recently just turned 25 (very young in HW terms), took up boxing at the age of 18 and had under 40 amateur fights.
Its a good stepping stone for Joshua. No one knows how he good he is, and as has been found out with the Price Thompson fight, if there are serious shortcomings they will be exposed.
he only throws about 5 punches a round anyway.... Hes half decent but soooooo negative if he does come in shape and lands a few hard counters it could be interesting but I just done see it... He's basically becoming an American version of someone like Sprott.
Yeah that's a good point. I hope it goes in to the later rounds so Joshua knows he can't walk through everyone. Although I do think he'll get him out early. I'm even thinking 2 rounds.
johnson is a perfect test for AJ at this point in his career , i still think AJ will stop him inside the distance , johnson does not have a lot of movement from what i have seen of him and i can see AJ landing a lot of shots and referee eventually stepping in .
I really hope not, for Joshuas's sake. Joshua needs rounds, and it could well go to his head if he stops Johnson too easily. We don't need another Billy Big-*******s strutting round the place.
Joshua will demolish Johnson a few roundsI reckon. Would be beneficial for him to get some rounds though.
Tickers are selling really well according to Eddie Hearn this morning, They have had to open up more of the arena
