I like andy and want him to come back strong but I think AJ just would apply the same game plan as the second fight and even if andy was in shape he loses a decision bc Joshua has faster feet and a longer reach. Andy has faster hands a better chin and comparable power but aj has the physical advantages and won't make the same mistake twice.

Ruiz is one of the few fighters whose slow footwork is balanced by his fast hands.
Ruiz v Joshua III would go to another UDW for Joshua though...by now it can be said AJ has Ruiz number... but I also agree with those saying a motivated Ruiz is a dangerous fighter who could represent again a question mark in an eventual third fight.

Much respect for Ruiz even if obese.

He probably has the best beard in heavyweight boxing and recuperation. He took a monster shot off Joshua in the first fight, got dropped, got up an immediately went for it an dropped joshua, no ****s given, no shaking it off, just right at him. If he’s serious on his return, then he’s a threat to anyone, forget bums. Can’t see him getting near Fury though

It’s daft to compare Joshua to Price in any way shape or form.

He’s a worried fighter, not as bad as Price but it’s there

JLH, when most us - me for sure - say a fit Ruiz we're not thinking 240 or less LOL. I'm thinking ~260 or maybe a bit less. If Ruiz could get down to 250-55 he'd still be heavier than AJ and will be able to take a big shot.

A 250-260# Ruiz will not have cement blocks feet. A 260# cement blocks Ruiz moved fast enough to chase down AJ and drop him 4X. It was tall AJ that looked like a bag of cement in their first fight
AJ has the blueprint until he gets tagged :rolleye: I favor AJ but some here are acting like it'd be a walk over.

If ruiz takes it seriously I think he will be more competitive than the 2nd fight but still loses

    Maybe 116-112 instead of 119-109

Ruiz was 268 for the first fight. He was not so slow of foot at that weight, but not fast either. But he was able to catch Joshua both because AJ was reckless in rushing in, & he was disoriented after the temple shot of the first knockdown.

Given the real height of Ruiz & that he is not carrying a lot of muscle for a modern HW, I think he would be best ~ 235.
Even at that weight I think that he would be right near 25% bodyfat.
Given both his great difficulty losing weight, & the advantages of weight he gets with his style, I think this would be ideal.

At this size his speed would be noticeably greater than we have seen him before.
    With an even better engine/endurance.

It would still be hard to get to the athletic & much taller + longer if he continues to box & run, but at least he would have a decent chance.

I think a fit and In shape Andy Ruiz Jr would Intimidate AJ and bring back flashbacks of the first fight.

Ruiz to cut off the ring and AJ to run around with shades of Ali. AJ to freeze like a reindeer In headlights when Ruiz throws those 6 punch combinations.

AJ takes the knee as Its easy than getting concussed again.
    Ruiz TKO.

A fit, trained by Eddy Reynoso, Andy Ruiz would have Joshua running for his life the entire fight

You have stated in your EDIT: A fit, motivated, focused Ruiz

But i dont think we will ever see that again.

Since Andy got his rolex watch and sports cars, and became a celebrity. He doesnt care anymore.

No it will not be walk over vs motivated Ruiz if in shape and improved legwork.

Especially if bearing in mind how A.J " well performed " vs 39 y.o Pulev.
39 y.o Pulev = less dangerous than 40 y.o pre covid Povetkin or even Dorticos etc like CW guys.
Doesn't looks that A.J performance and opponents level had increased during last his fights.

Leg lazy, short reach, lazy! with good counter punching skills and fast hands, talented.
Parker too had won him on cards cos Ruiz was leg lazy and fight was in New Zealand.

Apart from Parker & AJ,Ruiz needs to fight some top names to get another shot.
AJ will beat Ruiz if thay fight again,AJ will keep it long.
