Meh, better than Chisora atleast and it does set up a Wilder fight for december. AJ knocking out both helenius and Wilder atkeast would out him back in the mix at the top after the Usyk losses.
Well it is what it is. At least we still get a Saturday nights boxing event. Better than nowt. And someone mentioned this is no longer a PPV event (?)..if so, that's something too I 'spose. Anyone here having a punt on Bobby?
I prefer Chisora. I think his pressure would cause AJ problems. Don't see Helenius having any chance.
Probably the best fight that could be realistically be made given the situation and time frame in fairness.
Not a great opponent but that was to be expected. If he was good enough to be Wilder's comeback opponent, I guess it's OK if he's a short notice replacement for Joshua. He at least has a punchers chance and I won't begrudge Helenius a good payday.
I don't see AJ knocking out Wilder. Deontay will die in that ring, AJ is mentally fragile ... i think Wilder puts on the pressure and once he starts landing bombs AJ is probably going to run out of the ring. Wilder by 7th rnd TKO/KO
Couldn't agree more. I think AJ will go at least 4-5 rounds with Helenius. I doubt he'll flatten him fast like Wilder did. And I agree that Wilder beats Joshua. A few years ago, Joshua may have edged it, but watching his recent fights, I just cannot see it happening. He never lets his hands go and when he gets caught, he has flashbacks to being dropped by Ruiz and backs off. I personally think AJ's "problem" is that he's "too nice" in the ring. I feel like AJ was brainwashed into becoming this likeable character by Hearn and AJ and that has unfortunately extended into the ring. Unless AJ has a dramatic change in strategy/trainer/approach, I don't see him beating Wilder, Fury etc.
I might do the same but it will be Helenius KO 1-6, with better odds at +2200. The reason is that Helenius is old and will not be a threat in the second half of the fight, if it goes that long. So to me it's a waste of money buying any action on him b/w rounds 7-12.
