He will sign with HBO but I don't see nothing positive in that. His numbers will be in the same bracket if he keeps fighting only in UK.

    Terrible in what context?
The mega fight with Wlad did 659k live.
I dont see how they would be any higher on HBO unless HBO did more promotion or Joshua finally made his U.S debut.

the usa has only 1.2 million hardcore boxing fans .
the usa market for boxing has been in decline .
you need a homegrown superstar to reignite the sport.

joshua IMO will never crack the usa market as it is a myth that no longer exsists for non usa boxers.
wlad did 10 million a fight in germany alone .
ppv is killing the exposure of the sport
ppv is killing the exposure of the sport in uk and usa.
i have mates who have never seen joshua fight since the olympics because they cant afford sky tv and these mates all watch spike tv / channel 4/5 / bbc /itv 4 boxing on freeview.

1 thing for the posters from the usa who always say on here AJ needs to fight in the USA
how many of you would watch ppv at 4.30 am sunday mornings in america ?

Those were only US #s. that means nothing. I bet it was bigger than any US ppv in years besides fmj last fight..which was as competitive and similar ending.

    Where's the outage ?

Let's be real here, no matter how good Mayweather vs. Pacquiao/McGregor did it's clear that the US doesn't care about boxing anymore and hasn't for a while.

Boxing needs that once in a generation fighter that can connect with people and has an aura to him to start it all up again, there isn't anyone in the amateur and pro ranks currently, and he especially has to be from the US.

Nobody wanted to see Joshua/Takam fight and on top of that we had a corrupt referee that ruined the damned fight! The fight should not have been stopped!

As a matter of comparison, Wlad vs. Povetkin (a bout held in Moscow, making it an afternoon affair for US viewers like AJ's London bout) drew 534k viewers on HBO.

AJ's numbers seem right in line for
    a) a fight far away in Europe
    b) between two non-american fighters
    c) shown during afternoon
