Joshua still has some things to improve.

Real boxing fans have seen flash in the pans who have been hyped up to the rails who were sold as indestructible killers, in the past. Joshua is no different, he is just a manufactured heavyweight who has had fortunate breaks which has helped propel him to hold legendary belts that do not belong around his waist.

Once he steps in the ring with a well equipped heavyweight who is equally in their prime he will get stopped.

He needs to stay away from the likes of Ortiz, Wilder, Fury, Povetkin if he wants to maintain this charade of being this great fighter.

At the time of the stoppage one judge gave Joshua every round, while two gave Takam one round.

I'd actually like to see Andy Ruiz Jr get in shape, and if he could string a few solid wins together maybe get a title shot against Joshua.

He's good a good chin, sneaky shots, can apply consistent pressure, a tight guard, has shown he can go 12 against another world class heavyweight.

Doubly so if he bothers to really get into shape, which he has supposedly been doing according to social media.

Behave. The only Wilder who has a shot at beating Joshua is Gene Wilder

Takam was a one eyed fighter because he was hit with a 3 or 4 power punch counter attack by Joshua - like I said, get some damn context. And to denigrate Takam (who most everyone on this thread respects) as a limited plodder to use as ammo against Joshua just further proves the point, and is disrespectful to a guy that just put in a gutsy performance.

Used to like this forum for interaction with fellow boxing fans, but seems like since CST80 has been at the helm everyone has become more accerbic, disrespectful, and shows less critical thinking in favour of personal bias. That stuff trickles down.

Bad stoppage, granted - but Takam put in a good performance and was outgunned and outclassed, and injured. That's basically the bottom line when you remove all the disrespect and hot-air.

Takam noticeably fell apart after the cut on his eye.

    Sad.

This really captures my feelings on the stoppage.

Eddie could never make that fight because casual AJ fans are so thick and would slate the fight because Ruiz is fat.

Joshua gets the British stoppage. Takam is obviously a tough fight, and even tougher on 12 days notice, when you've been training for a Euro plodder your whole camp.

Boxrec has the time of the stoppage as coming at 1:34 into round 10. So, yes, the 9.5 over came in ... just.
