It's obvious isn't it, they are waiting for him to get as close to 40 as possible before making it. This is the way they tend to work, talk the talk but stall until signs of physical decline become obvious and then agree the fight. Hope it happens personally, but although it will be big its well past its peak and won't be anywhere near as big as it could of.

I think this aging generation of heavys are getting away with it as so little I'd coming through. Really wish some new stars were here and we didn't have to hear about Fury and AJ's endless talk of big fights

They paid AJ huge money for the Ruiz and Usyk rematches so of course the parasites at MR want this fight signed asap especially as their man is done.

I am glad both boxers aren’t getting stupid money that they don’t deserve, especially Joshua, he’s a boring boxer who doesn’t bring any excitement and hasn’t done for years. Wilder has been exposed in his 3 losses to Fury and is hardly box office himself.

This isn’t a fight to get excited about, especially when we could be seeing Crawford-Canelo in the next year. Give us fans something to look forward to, not 2 past it robotic heavyweights with a bunch of losses between them.

Exactly this. They have no big stars left now and it wouldn’t surprise me if they left the game once DAZN bin them off in a bit.

Crawford vs Canelo would be a one-sided beat down by Canelo at 168. It wouldn’t be competitive and I have no interest in seeing it. I’d rather see Canelo against Benavidez and a rematch with Bivol, and then Crawford against the top fighters at 154 like Tim Tszyu and Israil Madrimov.

I doubt the Bivol rematch will ever happen. Don’t tell me you have forgotten that your heroes at MR tried to make it numerous times and couldn’t, hence ginger moving to pastures new. Canelo does not want to be box Benavidez, however let’s hope he gets forced into it.

I think the Crawford fight will happen.

Eddie Hearns latest interview he’s saying the fight is taking its time because of money and the vast amount involved, but if the fight isn’t made soon AJ might take another fight in the interim, he mentioned December 23rd as potential date for a Matchroom show.

    Joshua vs Charr in December?

I’d be astonished if Joshua took this fight.
Having said that it’s about time Wilder got off his arse and fought somebody.
Fury apart and the ancient Ortiz his resume is very thin.

A lot of noise before AJ fought.... and very little noise now.

I do hope it comes off and we get to see the fight but from AJ's last few performances (cracking shot to KO Helenius but he was boring me beyond belief prior to it), I think Wilder will take his head clean off.

That said, Wilder has hardly been the beacon of activity either.

Wilders inactivity is the problem, that’s why I favour AJ if they finally fight. If they don’t I’ll rest the blame solely on AJs shoulders.

Do they have the money ? Are they ready to spend that much money on a single event ?

Eddie is still not convinced AJ is ready for Wilder and won't be anytime soon. AJ is finished is finished in this Heavyweight division.

The same old happens - Wilder v Joshua, Fury v Usyk, Eubank fighting for a World Title then they all end up fighting underwhelming opponents.

Frustrating for boxing fans when the fights don't happen and we end up with crap such as Joshua v Whyte then Helenius and Fury v MMA nonsense.

If I was Joshua, I would position myself for another run at the title. If Fury becomes available for the title that would be a no brainer. At this moment in time Joshua and Wilder are no longer champions, and both are just contenders. Joshua is rebuilding under Derek James and has had two fights under him so far this year. Wilder is doing what, I don't know.

The opportunity for Wilder to go again down the WBC route was orchestrated and sat on a plate in front of him. Whether Ruiz ducked Wilder, or Wilder ducked Ruiz is open to speculation. However, what we can understand to be true is that the PBC told the WBC that they didn't want to make that fight. We know this because the WBC didn't put the final eliminator to purse bids. Why? Because then one of Ruiz or Wilder (both PBC fighters) would have been exposed for not wanting to fight, and also forcing the WBC's hand to drop one of them from the rankings.

    How can I put this...
If Wilder was really serious about being a legitimate contender and locking in the Joshua fight, there was a very simple solution laid out in front of him:
Step 1: Fight and beat Ruiz Jr. = WBC mandatory for Tyson Fury.
Step 2: Leverage the WBC mandatory shot against Fury to make the fight with Joshua = Joshua would not be able to pass on that opportunity.
But, he hasn't done that. Why? Because it is Wilder who is wanting to cash out ASAP with zero risk to the bag.

Joshua doesn't actually need to chase a bag against Wilder, when he still has options available to him:
    1. Zhang v Joyce winner
    2. Fury is still out there
    3. Wilder
    4. Or just continue the rebuild under Derek James

    All those would be acceptable.

I think stinking the gaff out twice. Fighting in front of empty seats and closed blocks with people booing has just effected how much the Saudis are willing to pay.
