Thought the same thing and picked AJ too, but I don't know if these guys go "back to the drawing board" so well as they used to mr djanders. Joshua, after having the experience of 24 rounds with Usyk, should have been awesome against Franklin, but was very pedestrian.

Wilder, too, should emerge a better fighter after all that time in the ring with Fury. We really don't have much to go on, because Helenius ran right at DW and said "please hit me on the head" and that was that. Has he improved?

Anyway, based on their last results, Wilder blazed another one & Joshua looked heavy and maybe didn't train too hard.

I may change my pick gotta wait & see.

Joshua was backing up for the first two rounds vs Ruiz. He was fairly defensive vs Povetkin. The Parker and Takam performances were both safety first. Joshua claimed he said to McCracken after the Wlad fight: "If I have another fight like this (high wear), I'm done with boxing"

There is no way I can analyze this without touching on the Fury vs Wilder fight. Wilder has shown that he can box with a better fighter than AJ, and how much punishment he can take. On the other hand pre Ruiz 1 AJ and post Ruiz AJ 1 are not the same boxers.
IMO there is very little chance of this happening. So if AJ didn't win by knockout, then he would lose by knockout.
Yes. I feel that the Ruiz 1 fight changed AJ's career forever. I would have looked at it differently if AJ knocked out Ruiz in the rematch.
Yes. It's Wilder's experience fighting Fury that gives him the edge over AJ. AJ hasn't fought someone as dangerous as Wilder since his fight with Wladimir Klitschko. Of course, I don't count Usyk here, who is definitely ATG, but he didn't score a knockdown in the heavyweight division.
And that someone would be AJ. If we compare the AJ chin, and the recovery factor with Fury; AJ wouldn't be able to withstand Fury either.
Before the Ruiz 1 fight I would favor AJ, but after that (AJ without the killer instinct) I will definitely favor Wilder. And one more thing, let's look at what it took for Wilder and what it took for AJ to beat Dominic Breazeale.
    Wilder KO.
