Again, when did Fury become a huge puncher? He was known as a featherfist prior to the Wilder fights. He never put a dent in Wlad, and failed to even drop Pianeta (whom an ancient Chagaev stopped in one round). And which massive punchers did Wilder even fight to prove his chin? Stiverne and Ortiz were the only ones; Stiverne struggled to land anything of note and Ortiz nearly knocked Wilder out before ref shenanigans scuppered that plan. So how great an achievement is it really that Fury was the only one to stop Wilder?
AJ is too gun shy, would fight scared, and get knocked out. Wilder has more heart, less fear, and would put AJ in really uncomfortable situations. I think AJ would fold.
Hard to predict. AJ is more skilled, but it is enough for Wilder to need AJ only once, and that is the end. AJ doesn't have a chin like Fury. There’s no way AJ would endure a “shockwave”. 52/48 for Wilder.
Wilder brutal KO victory inside 3 rounds, Joshua simply does not have the mental fortitude to deal with a fighter like Wilder as well as Wilder being too rangey and athletic.
Vegan beast. a clarification. the post asks for a pick between Joshua and Wilder. When I put the name.....Joshua....at the beginning of my post.....that is because I pick....Joshua....to win against Wilder. The aura of invincibility to which I refer....is the perceived aura of invincibility that fans .....I have talked to many that believed in it......believe that Wilder possessed. perhaps this clears it up.
A few years ago I would of AJ but if they fought tomorrow I honestly think Wilder would shatter AJ's chin within 6 rounds.
Wilder wins. Wilder has greater heart, a better chin, more power, more height, and more range. AJ has better fundamentals and only comparable speed. AJ would try and box on the outside like a coward for the whole fight and potentially win on points, but I don't back him to go 36 minutes without his (pretty static) chin receiving one big bomb. - Evidence that Wilder lands: Wilder has landed 3 (very) big shots on the far more elusive, and more rangy, Fury, averaging 1 (very) big punch landed every 30 minutes across the 3 fights. And there were more decent power-shots landed besides that which Fury ate and would have likely knocked-down a less durable guy. So AJ is getting hit. Does anyone here REALLY think he gets up? - I doubt it.
Joshua wins but not without some difficulties on the way. Wilder would have been a very real threat to him.
AJ stops him. People say once Wilder lands AJ is out, but AJ has never been out cold as a pro. Wilder only has one weapon and AJ has complete offense.
Seek and destroy Joshua from a few years back takes Wilder out in a few rounds. Current gun shy Joshua probably gets clipped and taken out whilst up on the cards. If either guy lands big it's game over though, both are glass cannons, although Wilder seems to have more heart, if Joshua has him hurt it won't count for much, he'll be staring at the ceiling pretty shortly after as his defence is terrible. I know he survived a few rounds with Fury after being hurt but Joshua is a better finisher than Fury when he has his opponent hurt (probably the only thing he does better than Fury tbh).
