I'd rather see Joshua fight Whyte. The build up would at least be entertaining.

It's a good step up for AJ against an opponent who is well known and very experienced and a proven quantity at top level. Chisora may not pose a big threat as he lacks one shot power and is unlikely to outpoint AJ over 12 rounds but he will at least always look to apply pressure on Joshua and take him some much needed rounds.

As for whether or not Chisora wants the fight, what other options does he have? He isn't a big draw himself and after the crushing defeat to Fury he's no longer seen as a contender but more of a gate keeper.

Why would anyone with anything to lose want to fight him? His name value isn't what it was and he wouldn't be a great payday. Wilder couldn't offer him a big payday his opponents get peanuts, Fury has already beaten him twice, Haye has already beaten him, Wlad is facing Fury and if he wins will look to unify the belts.

Chisora's options are limited, maybe if Helenius beats Teper he'll want to prove he can beat Chisora without controversy but I doubt it and AJ may still prove to be the biggest payday available now that he is a PPV fighter. If Joshua/Whyte was PPV I suspect a fight with Chisora could be as well.
