Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II - August 12 // O2 Arena (DAZN PPV)

I wonder how many posters on here will actually watch this on DAZN? It’s a boring fight well past it’s sell by date. I’m a big boxing fan and I’ve got no intention of watching it. Simply no excitement for it.

Probably a few. I've said a few times I'll probably buckle if my son's desperate to see it (although he can pay a share).

 

The bulk of tickets were 40-80, absolutely standard pricing. Outer and inner ring I believe were 100-4/500, probably a few quid more for the absolute ringside. Again, pretty much standard for an 'A' list fight......if you genuinely believe those prices are 'extortionate' I suggest you get a better job.

Regarding Yafai, a lowest of the low Nxt Gen card where you would expect prices to be drastically cheaper they are 40-220 with the bulk exactly being sold at 40-100. All shows, regardless of promotors do the vast bulk of tickets 40-100. This is common knowledge, I guess you have never been to a show before if you don't know this? You should give it a try, the live atmosphere is far better than TV.

If you don't have much disposable income but want to go, then just keep an eye out, myself and other posters have listed multiple times when shows are giving away freebies, its absolutely commonplace for matchroom aswell. The Yafai card will certainly be mass giveaways, look out the week before, they are usually listed on the Monday of fightweek. It's great that this information can be shared out and other forum members can enjoy a free night of boxing, would be good if you could take advantage of this, but for some reason, you and a few other posters go into silence about these freebies, almost like your in denial that Matchroom are having to give them away for nothing just to save the arena being covered in empty seats. Best to just embrace it and enjoy a free night out. Hope this helps

I’m in the same boat, I’ve been asking my kids to pay for the PPVs they want to watch now as it was getting ridiculous.

They’ve said they want to watch KSI’s next fight whoever he fights, some UFC stuff and Fury Ngannou. I’m paying for Spence Crawford that’s it.

 

My son can hunt for a stream if he wants KSI; or watch it on TikTok 10 mins after the end

 

That’s different if your lad wants to watch it though.

I think it will be another Joshua v Franklin tbh, however I could be wrong. Once he hurts chinny Whyte, the plodding trail horse won’t be coming forward all guns blazing like he did v Chisora and it will turn into a drab points win.

Let me spell it out to you (again): Whyte is in worse shape than he normally is, at a pivotal juncture in his career. This is indicative of his intentions and levels of self-belief. In other words, he may not even be putting his best foot forward.
