David Haye seems quite credible in this interview. Maybe it has been Eddie Hearn's plan all along to throw Whyte under the bus ?

To be fair normally when Haye says or predicts something it’s the exact opposite that happens.

Personally think it’s nonsense, Chisora isn’t trained or managed by Haye anymore yet he just rings him up out of the blue and says by the way I’m fighting Joshua next week but don’t tell anybody. There’s absolutely no reason to do that, especially to a loudmouth like Haye.

That might be the reason....You know if you give Haye information he will shout it

It’s funny. I got a call from Derek Chisora about a week ago telling me this exact thing would happen. Derrick told me a week ago that Dillian is going to fail a drugs test.

I didn’t pay much attention to it. He’s telling me that he’s fighting AJ a week ago, told me to keep it myself, but the news is out there now that Dillian is not going to be in the ring with AJ on the 12th.

Derek has been training for that fight. He’s brought the same camp, the same team that he had for the Usyk fight, he hasn’t done that since the Usyk fight, he knows he’s going to need another Usyk fight performance. Very very interesting.”

For what purpose would Haye leaking it serve Chisora though? “Derek has been training for that fight” so he apparently knew he had the fight so why the need to apparently tell Haye about it?

Not to mention the fact that the match was a heavyweight fight between two British fighters one of which has a promoter which has for the last year been involved in a ped scandal yet when Chisora told Haye that Whyte had failed a drugs test Haye “didn’t pay much attention to it” ? Absolute nonsense.

I wonder if AJ's replacement opponent will be presented tomorrow ? Then we know if Haye lied in this interview.

The key point imho. Nail on the head.

No idea what game Haye is playing here, but he isn't doing this to benefit Chisora.

    Why is Haye doing it?

Because he craves attention and it makes him relevant.

I imagine Delboy has heard rumour he'd pissed dirty or they have cocked the cycling up, hence his apparent comments.

The thing that's plausible in Haye saying this is Matchroom knowing well in advance. It's quite possible they were sitting waiting on a way to rub this out and go ahead with the fight anyway like they did with Benn.

From what Whyte said yesterday the cancellation was a surprise, but presumably he knew about the test result well before that.

I think Haye is chatting to BS. Whyte says he only found out yesterday and there is no reason for him to suggest otherwise.

Why would matchroom announce Chisora v Washington knowing Whyte was out and Chisora was going to be the replacement?

Only anecdotal, but out of our circle there are less and less showing interest in boxing, a few years ago you’d have a group chat buzzing about the next big fight whereas nobody even registered AJ was supposed to be fighting next week. When you throw in the popularity of IPTV , people going out less and the scandals, you wonder how long boxing can sustain its current model.

Herol Graham was down to fight Curtis Parker at Bramhall Lane. Parker pulled out last minute. He was replaced by Lindell Holmes. Fight finished on a cut to Holmes which was disappointing as though Graham looked ahead Holmes was coming on.
Parker was hardly heard of again and Holmes became a feared boxer and went o to win a title.
Whoever Whyes replacement is it won't replicate that mate. Just my opinion it should be Hyrgovic but WILL be Chisora.
