Helenius is less shot than Chisora and Washington. Kownacki was on a good run until Helenius stopped him, and his punch resistance never recovered afterwards.
It's what people here do unfortunately. Joshua could fight Wilder in January and people would still complain. The most notable example I can give is when Zhang was a rumoured opponent for Joshua for April, and a lot of people here said he would be another old fighter on Joshua's resume. Then Zhang was announced to fight Joyce, and apparently it was a good opponent? Especially when you consider Joshua coming off back-to-back defeats and looking for confidence.

I wonder how much money Joshua is losing after the restructured deal followed the failed test. Fair-play to him for still fighting on the same date. He has been criticised for inactivity but this would be 3 fights within just over 1 year.

That's unfair. Zhang was probably Joyce's biggest test (we'll see in time how big a win Dubois really was) and a steady step on the way up. For Joshua it's squarely in between tune-up and elite level, it would have seemed like he didn't know where to go next.

I thought AJ-Zhang would be a decent scrap and seeing what happened to Joyce maybe it could have been interesting for 5-6 rounds.

Can't knock Joshua for fighting, and more importantly fighting actual boxers.

I have to admit that I'm also starting to doubt whether we'll get to see AJ vs Wilder.

I am criticising him for fighting Whyte and a boxer that fought 4 days ago - farcical.

Look at the footage from Fury v Whyte and explain to me what the Whyte fight or this Helenius fight does to prepare him for Wilder.

He needed to step up after the Franklin zero threat fight and should have targeted a live opponent such as Bakole or Hrgovic.

Badly needs to come through some adversity and test himself, not avoid it at all costs.

What you don’t seem to grasp is that posters on this forum couldn’t care less about the money multi-millionaire Anthony Joshua is ‘losing’.

You talk as if people do, they don’t!

I will only believe it when I see him in the same ring before the first bell.

More likely Whyte's tests swept under Matchroom Carpet and Joshua v Whyte 2 takes place in 2024.

Not relevant. Joshua is not on Fury's level and a comparison is meaningless.

Whyte was a step-up from Franklin, especially given his history with Joshua.

Helenius isn't, sure, but, again, you said that Joshua would be better off staying in the gym than having a professional fight. That is absolute nonsense and I know you don't believe it.

You know your boxing, and if Joshua looks poor v Helenius you'll pounce on it (and you'd be right to do so). You can't have it both ways.

The crux of the problem 'Whyte is a step up'

A British level fighter well managed by Hearn, made a fortune, well managed risk free fights, life and death with Journeyman Chisora, planted by an old man in Matchroom HQ Garden - Whyte at his PED Best is a step down in my book.

Yea I have to say I don’t understand these ‘rebuilding’ fights. Fighting guys your supposed to beat isn’t going to give you any confidence going in with a guy like Wilder is it? He’ll likely knock Helenius out in a few rounds and that will be that. It won’t prepare him for nothing.

That is the point I was making yet the Joshua Fan Boys out in force rejecting any constructive criticism.

Wanted him to rebuild and do well to set up a challenge with Fury.

He has wasted another valuable year of his career since the meltdown in Saudi and I personally think he is finished at 33 years of age.

did you miss the meltdown he had after Usyk 2? of course he needs rebuilding fights. the only problem is that his confidence is still so shot he treated Frankin like he was prime Sonny Liston

Well you think Joshua is British level too, so what's the problem?

Come on man, I know you play a character on here but you're changing your tune too often now.

To be fair you've got me hook line and sinker here, I usually know better than to engage when someone's obviously looking for an argument so perhaps it's my own fault for taking you seriously.

Calling anyone who disagrees with you a "Joshua Fan Boy" is comical though, you did make me laugh so nice one.
