As already stated, AJ could and should as the fight progresses, land hard and often. One good thing with AJ is he's a very solid, technically sound and accurate puncher, and when he's having things go his way, a very effective combination puncher so for me, this fight will very much depend on how durable Ngannou is.

If he's still around by the 3rd quarter of the fight, things could start getting very interesting.

For a boxer with no amatuer or pro fights he's fundamentally as sounds it gets. Super impressive. Nothing fancy. Feet are right. Hands are great. Feet are slow. Leaning back is the biggest flaw but he gets away with it, clearly MMA experience kicking in there. He's actually quite dangerous from that position because the moment he catches his balance you see he is ready to throw something.

It's clear heavyweights can get away with a lot. The dynamic of being a tank of a man is something people can't appreciate.

His next test is to see how he handles legit power off AJ. It might startle him. It might bounce off that roided dome and leave him unphased. Who knows.

Fury failed because he didn't come with his lateral movement and jab. He realized he needed it mid fight and he just was not in shape for it and his balance was off.

AJ is going to come to jab but he's still a sitting duck himself.

For those of us who followed him in MMA he's not an unknown. Freakishly strong man, incredible power and an iron chin. In 2024 HW boxing having those qualities is enough to do quite well. He's also more naturally skilled than Wilder.

Having those qualities is enough to do quite well in almost any year of heavyweight boxing. Primo Carnera was the undisputed champion of the world at one point.

That's very true, which is why it's silly people are either still surprised he did well, or still doubt that he can do well against other HWs.

Francis only has an inch reach advantage and his hands are a lot slower than AJ`s, plus AJ`s jab is far better than Ngannou`s too.

Primo had no power, he was a fraud, AJ would have knocked Primo out in the 1st round and Ngannou is far better than Primo was, you surely don`t think Primo could punch as hard as Francis does!

On the other hand, have you ever considered the possibility that the heavy weights today are absolutely terrible apart from one or two, and that the heavyweights of old would destroy Ngannou regardless of the size difference?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Floyd Patterson would destroy Ngannou. So would Rocky Marciano. So would Joe Frazier. So would Max Schmeling. So would Jack Dempsey.

So would just about any great old small heavyweight.

So would most other great light heavyweights from the past.

Maybe Ngannou would have actually done better v some of the slower heavyweight champs compared to smaller quicker fighters.

If you're talking about guys like George Foreman and Sonny Liston, guys like that? No way, they knock him out quick.

The weigh-in will be the day before the fight. Not sure as to the exact time. It'll be on YouTube as an advertised but delayed event.

I'm looking forward to that too.

If you want to watch it livestream, just set the reminder on YouTube.
