They need to be deleted so actual boxing discussions can be facilitated. It’s frustrating then the forum gets bogged down in troll and fanboy threads.

I sound like a salty MMA fan because I pointed out that Claressa Shields fighting a soccer mom with a 1-2 record isnt the same as Ngannou fighting Anthony Joshua?

Well she is a boxer only and is new to other disciplines. What's your point?

My point is there is an obvious difference in the dynamics of boxers coming to MMA compared to vice versa, matchmaking wise. The MMA fighters are going straight into high profile fights against top level boxers in major PPV main events. The boxers are on the undercards of B promotions being matched up against cans that they're supposed to beat. One is basically a set up to make an example, the other is not.

What kind of point are you attempting to make?

Hey, thats nothing, any halfway decent prospect in boxing gets to go 29-0, then they all avoid each other for 5 years until someone shells out $100m in fight purses.

I take your point but he's taking punches from MMA fighters not pro boxers.

Yes if only it was the standard for every MMA fighter to have a massively inflated record like boxers do, is essentially what you're getting at here.

It restores some credibility to the sport of boxing. Tyson Fury didn't train and showed up unprepared. No professionalism and disgraced the sport of boxing.

HW boxing is not a joke. Joshua showed the MMA bros what happens when you step into the ring against a world class HW who came prepared and had an actual training camp with proper diet, sleep and training.

I don't wish harm on anybody who gets into the ring, but Ngannou had it coming. You don't play HW boxing. When an MMA guy thinks he can walk into a boxing ring and rumble with a world class HW he and his fanboys need to be checked. Maybe it was a cash grab for Ngannou, but Joshua made him earn that money by rattling his brain. Should serve as a notice for anybody else who wants to pull this stunt.

I mean, he quite literally did walk into a boxing ring and rumble with a world class HW, and got paid tens of millions off the bat to do it, purely off the back of his name value from a different sport.

Blame boxing for sacrificing its integrity to get casual interest and mainstream attention. Same with the Jake Paul stuff. The door should never have been opened.
