Tokyo Douglas gets floored but outlasts AJ, who gets knocked down twice and stopped in 8 at the latest.
Being more exact, I will say given the focus and discipline of Douglas in Tokyo (the skills were always there), he beats Joshua imo. By UD with Joshua seriously flagging or by outright later round stoppage/KO. Also, I don’t know that Douglas has to be as mentally perfect as he was in Tokyo to get the win but obviously he wouldn’t want to be too far beneath.
I can’t believe people are picking Douglas based on one good night. Douglas looked great, but that was partly because Tyson wasn’t focused, and he still got dropped pretty hard. AJ has had the much better career and more than enough tools to take Douglas out.
If AJ got the long count against Douglas would that be a steal or fair? Or because Douglas got the long count against Tyson it is not a steal but an excuse?
This isn't a question of comparing ledgers; nor is it a micro-examination of how Douglas' and Joshua's respective opponents performed, etc etc. Best-for-Best, there is a gap in class between Douglas and Joshua, with Douglas residing in the superior bracket. Douglas wouldn't need to be "looking for a KO" to achieve one early on. That said, let's imagine the KO doesn't happen quickly... ...In Joshua's own words: “ This content is protected This content is protected ” Thus, I think Douglas is the safer bet, over a longer distance, as well.
I think i may of commentated on this thread before but if i didn't my thoughts are/were. That just because Douglas looked good beating Tyson where he had alot of physical advantages over him, like height/reach and being able to push off the smaller Tyson. Doesn't necessarily mean he would of looked as good against a Heavyweight like Joshua who was bigger than him, people also forget Douglas wasn't really pushed that hard vs Tyson outside of the knockdown he had it all his own way pretty much, i still feel like even if the Tokyo version of Douglas was pushed hard enough his suspect temperament could show up. Remember Douglas looked good vs Tucker until going got tough and he basically quit. Overall i'm not saying Douglas can't beat Joshua, but don't just assume because he beat the smaller Tyson that he beats Joshua styles make fights.
So the uppercut that put Douglas on his bum when he recieved the long count is considered destruction by douglas?
Douglas looked good other times. Looked pretty good against Mike Williams. I think the Buster who got three KD's off jabs against Williams would probably beat AJ as well. Buster was a real solid fighter. Just highly inconsistent.
Tyson won round 3, round 6 was even then Tyson won round 7 and 8, and got a knockdown not to mention the long count. Thats not being "Destroyed" as you say. If you want to use a word then Tyson was "Cheated" is more appropriate.
WTF? He got his ears boxed off and wasn`t landing anything, nobody on this forum will agree with the nonsense you just wrote, do you really think that was a close fight?
