You gotta admit that he is most definitely - at least in Wilder league though? Sure it's debatable but in my view Joshua is even above Wilder - who I considered to be somewhere around top 15.
No reason for this fight to happen. Both are top prospects and in a landscape where the belts are split up and both could become champions, there's no reason to eliminate each other this early when a lucrative unification down the road is possible.
That would be the taste of the game if one is being eliminated. There can't be two swords in a single scabbard. one has to lose in every game
Joshua won't even face Martin, so you know he won't get in the ring with Wilder. Joshua has potential, but he won't go much further under the same trainer. He is too stiff and also has a bad stamina problem. Wilder would have fun with Joshua for 8-10 rounds and knock him out. The way he was rocked by Whyte, Wilder would lay him out flat. Joshua needs to drop his trainer and come to the US and hook up with Roach or some other trainer to take him to the next level.
You are right. Contenders are supposed to face one another and as a result, one rises above the other because of the competition. Unless, you are happy with the BS ranking from BoxingRec and Ring based on BS stats. :smoke
Where did you read that? I think I read that someone else was facing Parker. Someone not named Joshua. The last I heard from Joshua's camp was he wasn't interested in accepting Martin's challenge and it was too soon to face Parker. Perhaps they changed their minds. I hope they did. I'd like to see which of them is the better fighter, now.
Would love to see that fight, Heavyweight's two biggest propects against eachother. But pretty sure won't happen. I'd relly be surprised if Joshua takes the challenge.
Joshua went for the title fight, don't blame him. Potentially similar risk, FAR greater reward. Here's hoping Parker fights someone proper in April, announcement should be in the next couple of days or so.
