There will be no way Joseph will get pushed around by Joshua, for those fans who think that....it's just not how Joshua fights. He likes the range and straight rights for his weapon of choice. But have we seen a fighter come forward with accurate bombs like Parker test Joshua? Whyte is no example before you start typing. He is a wild, unorthodox fighter with very little boxing technique. A punchers chance. While there is a massive divide on loyalties between the Kiwi and Pom, one thing is for certain, when these two get together, it'll make the Whyte v Joshua fight look like a sorority pillow fight. My pick, Parker by KO. Why? Parker has better close in skills, and once he is in, Joshua will be 5hit scared after taking brutal body shots followed by speed combos to the head.
He looks the type no way Joshua goes to NZ though. Look forward to seeing Joseph Parker fight & Joshua for that matter
While it's true that Joshua likes to use his range, it's also true he likes to fight on the front foot and push his opponents back. You're right, Whyte didn't really try and consistently push AJ back, he would try and beat AJ to the punch and then circle, when he wasn't punching he was backing away from Joshua. I can't see that happening against Parker as Parker will also likely try to beat him to the punch but instead of circling will try and stalk AJ down in his usual manner. I'm uncertain as to who will win, both are still untested. Parker hasn't shown he can fight off the back foot and good movement tends to trouble AJ. While Joshua is more effective from range and Parker isn't really a close pressure fighter, he may have enough space to let his hands go and catch Parker coming in and walking into Joshua's power is never a good idea. But then AJ hasn't shown he can clinch effectively and if Parker gets in range easily he will have his hands full and I could see one of Parker's fast combo's separating AJ from his senses. Suffice to say when this fight happens it will be a fight to remember.
One sport?? I take it that that would be pointed at rugby? Well yes we have the Rugby World Cup, The Rugby Sevens World Cup, the Woman Rugby World Cup, and the Woman Sevens World Cup. We also have the #1 in the world womans golf player. The #1 and #2 Olympic Mountain biking champions. 4th of the world list of medals per capita at London 2012 Olympics. 1st equal (tied with G Britain) of golds at last Rowing World Champs. Multiple cycling world champs. http://www.greatestsportingnation.c...ages/attached/GSNPosition-Change-Dec15-PC.gif :deal
Why did you even bite? It was a stupid comment and was clearly the best he could do. Obviously us Kiwis will be proud of our boy and want to back him, same go for the Poms. The difference is we are a small country and have one guy to cheer on who doesn't get much attention around the rest of the world. We are very familiar with AJ (and others) and what they've done. Most of the guys watching Parker clearly only know what they know from Boxrec, these forums, or a few bits on Youtube watching with unbiased eyes. The bull**** will stop when the bell goes. Who cares how many people there are in NZ? Who cares if AJ is taller? Who cares if Parker didn't knock Minto out in the 1st round? Who cares that a future journeyman with huge power, a good chin and no accuracy whatsoever almost KOd Joshua? None of this matters until they're in the same ring.
I'm sure they'll go to the UK or the US when the time suits, I believe the plan is to become mandatory so that they don't have to contend with huge $$$ demands just to make the fight.
Personally I hope Parker goes on to do big things. Fighters who carry the weight of a nation on their shoulders tend to be the most exciting to watch.
