If it was an easy fight for AJ, he'd have fought him when he was mandatory.

Instead he begged the sanctioning bodies to remove as mandatory.

That alone should tell you all you need to know as to what would happen if they were to fight.

Ortiz is most effective as a counter puncher, he's got little movement, slow feet and doesn't cut the ring off well. I don't think his chin is that good either. Joshua would control him with the jab, Ortiz will have to be the aggressor which ultimately spells doom, as he'll have to take risks to get in and Joshua has faster hands, much bigger reach and more than enough power to stop him. Ortiz for me looks best when people come to him, but he's not fought any bigger, strong, longer and faster guys and beaten them... really, his best win was Jennings who fought the dumbest fight he could have giving away any advantage in foot and hand speed by choosing to stand and trade.

Joshua deals with average fighters who have Wilder wobbling about on spaghetti legs much earlier and easier. See Eric Molina

Joshua within 3 rounds. And most likely the 1st.

Ortiz would have been a huge threat to Joshua 4-5 years ago, but he simply doesn’t have the speed to pull the trigger on fighters that big and athletic anymore. Ortiz was only able to land one truly damaging counter on Wilder, who spent the first 8 rounds of their fight out of position with his hands down. Sure he can look good against a lump like Cojanu, but at the top level he’s totally reliant on his ring IQ and his opponents willingness to come foward and give up positioning. Joshua wouldn’t do either in a fight against Ortiz, he’d bother him with his jab and long hook for the first part of the fight, and catch and counter him and soon as he started trying to force the KO. No way would Joshua blow him out early, he’s way to defensively responsible, but later as he begun to tire we’d see him open up just like he did with Wilder.

A post I can actually agree on. The HW division is a joke and these fanboys need to stop acting like certain guys are on a different level.

Yes it's great isn't! It's great and definitely something to love when a supposed world champion is terrified of fighting any threats and is unwilling to travel to fight, whilst holding someone else's belts hostage.

Marvelous stuff. Just what boxing needs!

Ortiz is all wrong for Joshua or is it right? Lol

He's more durable then Wilder in terms of handling Joshuas pressure but really being a southpaw almost takes him out of winning this fight due to Joshuas counter right hand.

Ortiz dominance factor hits a wall here and if he can't dominate rounds like he's done every fight he can't win bc he can't impose himself!

Joshua gets a stoppage by mid rounds! He gets one sooner if Ortiz can't maintain his level at his age!

    He's simply over matched!

Also Wilder had no success with his usual haymaker against ortiz. He had to adapt and throw a straight like Joshua.

    Joshua KO 4.

I'm sorry but Ortiz needs a time machine to win this one. He has all the stylistic skill-sets needed to give AJ fits but I think he left them in 2005. Unless his company car is a DeLorean, he's getting stopped in a fight he may well have been winning/competitive in...
