Hunter's movement would cause Joshua alot of issues. But can't see Hunter having the offense to take Joshua out. I think Joshua wins a UD in a jab fest.
I was one of the early guys on here to point out Hunter's ability, picking him to beat Bakole, but he isn't beating Joshua. He's beaten big heavies but none who could use their size like Joshua. He'll have some success I'm sure but Joshua's jab and Hunter's tendency to be defensively sloppy at times when in close will likely see Joshua coming out on top. Joshua by KO.
I think after Usyk, Hunter is the stylistically the worst match up for him. I still favour AJ though.
Joshua too big, too strong, too long and Hunter isn’t even on his level technically either. Probably AJ by KO if not wide points. Hunter is outmatched in every single department by Joshua.
Good movement which is a rare commodity these days at heavyweight, fast hands, good jab, decent head movement, basically he actually has boxing skills unlike most up coming heavies who rely on physicality too much. He also has a good chin by the looks of it and is willing to take risky fights even on short notice if need be and has been in some entertaining scraps. Not sure what not's to like if I'm honest. Will he be the next dominant heavyweight champion? Obviously not but unless you are a glory hunter type boxing fan who only cares about winners then it shouldn't matter, we've got a young hungry heavy who gives us good fights and isn't cherry picking his way up.
Aside from Fury and Usyk, there's no one at Heavyweight that's stylistically a bigger threat to Joshua than Hunter. Hunter has a better chin than Pulev, a better gas tank than anyone at Heavyweight aside from Usyk, the angles, the awkwardness, the totally unpredictable, improvisational and innovative plans of attack, the footwork, he can pressure, he can box off the back foot, he can swarm, he can roughhouse, and he's slippery as a ****d up baby seal in close, and can smother his opponent's work quite well, and is defensively underrated, and relentless. AJ would be gassed out after 4 rounds due to the intense physical and mental pressure he'd be put under, and become a sitting duck for Hunter's sweeping overhands. Hunter stops him brutally.
Possibly, but you cant say that with certainty. Im not sure Parker even beat Huey. Hunter is definitely Ruiz/Whyte/Parker level of fighter.
