Some wide views here. I have to favor AJ.

However if Hunter can get AJs respect early, fight smart (avoid getting caught by a big upper cut), I can see this being a competitive fight. It appears AJ has learned not to be reckless when going for the KO - to not get countered or gassed. He's not forgetting Ruiz 1 anytime soon.

Hunter doesn't have a great gas tank actually. He was puffing badly in both the Bakole and Povetkin fights. That's one of his negatives in my opinion. I think Hunter has one very underrated trait though, he's very very good at rolling with shots. Notice how he always moves his chin with the big shots that seem to land on it and you understand why he trades so wide open for counters and gets away with it. You were spot on with the rest though, he's very versatile on where he can fight and he is so incredibly slippery in such an awkward way. His style is very relaxed and loose, something I greatly appreciate in a fighter, malleable would be the perfect word to describe it. Rigid yet very fundamentally sound fighters tend to be very predictable albeit solid fighters unless they use weird punching angles.

Lol, exactly, round 12 of Hunter vs Povetkin was literally just Povetkin landing clear shots on him, Hunter fell down out of exhaustion/pain and tripped Povetkin with him, completely gassed. I, like the person scoring for DAZN, had Povetkin winning that fight, and he should have been awarded a knockdown. Hunter is a very good fighter, but he gassed and took a beating in the later rounds. He did jab a lot early on, though, he just punched himself out early being uber aggressive, discovering that Povetkin is pretty hard to chin.

Of course that's the reaction of a AJ dickriding fanboy with this as his avatar.

Your take was absolutely terrible haha. He had a 12 round war with a lesser Povetkin than the one AJ fought. Povetkin technically dropped him as well but the ref didn’t count it. His chin is most certainly not better than Pulev. His gas tank didn’t look overly impressive against Povetkin. Joshua would make him look average at best. AJ KO 6-8. There’s levels to this game and Hunter ain’t on that level.

Yeah, that's great, and what does that prove? It means Hunter doesn't it as hard as AJ. But guess what, neither does Ruiz. And are you saying the guy that just nearly killed Whyte, KOing him far more impressively than AJ, and the guy that delivered the most brutal KO of Price's career, managed to rock Hunter back on his heels and into the ropes. Holy ****!!!! You don't say! You mean Povetkin hits hard? Really? Wow! I had no idea!!! It's a damn good thing AJ kept Povetkin at range the majority of their match and didn't eat any clean bombs from him, because if a man who can't legit drop Dimitrenko, Liakhovich or Zumbano, could drop AJ four times, I can't imagine what a flush bomb from Sasha would have done to him. And yeah, Hunter got rocked by Povetkin, Pulev was almost dropped by HUGHIE FURY. Hunter's chin is better. There's levels, and AJ isn't on the one you think he is. He better thank God for that power though, that's the only thing he has going for him, without that deterrent, every HW in the Top 20 walk right through him.

The 20th ranked guy would go through him if he had less power? You have an agenda against Joshua and it’s evident. AJ will get more respect from his detractors once he beats Fury. Hunter is no match for him and you know it.

Considering the way he's rated by some, I wasn't impressed with Hunter against Povetkin.
I know some people say "he was robbed ! " ..... I thought the fight was even, could have gone either way, a draw was probably the fairest possible verdict.

AJ, who I don't even rate as anything great, smashed Povetkin out of there in 7 rounds.
On the other hand, Hunter did better against Povetkin than did Hughie Fury and, of course, Dillian Whyte.

Hunter v Hughie would be a nice intriguing likely dull and boring fight

I'd prefer to see Hughie Fury in with a more aggressive fighter next time out. Fury vs. Whyte or Chisora would be better.

No way does Hunter have Wlad, Whyte or Ruiz`s power, no way can he knock AJ out, look how his punches had less effect than AJ`s had on Povetkin, he`s too small to knock AJ out.
