Post prison Tyson ... I take Joshua.

Prime Tyson ... I take Tyson.

If prime Tyson got AJ in trouble, game over. I'm not sure AJ is experienced enough yet to deal with a prime Tyson.

    Ask again in 3-4 years.

    Agreed.

And it's hard to stay 'humble' when someone's taking a bite out of your ankle at a press conference. Dealing with a prime Tyson started well before the 1st bell and many were beaten before it...

AJ is fairly quick for his size but prime Tyson was faster, he would slip Joshua and land inside. One of those left hooks would spell trouble. TKO for Tyson mid rounds. At this point I don't see Joshua keeping Tyson off either, maybe a few years from now if he becomes more of a complete fighter.

Joshua is close to approaching prime Tyson..at 19 fights is he there? Not yet but its certainly not a mismatch and either could win. i go with Tyson here from 87/88,Joshua needs that 10% more refinement for me to take him in this match and a match i rarley would go against him, this is one .If Joshua developes a timed uppercut than the one he has which is more set up one...he'd have Tysons number.

AJ can't handle Mike on the inside, Mike is too elusive to grab and if he hurt Joshua he'd finish it.

Tyson in his prime was special and genuinely frightening, I honestly didn't see any heavyweight at that time being able to survive a Tyson fight, forget about beating him.

With respect I don't feel like that about Joshua at this moment in time.

There are things to be taken in to consideration, Tyson started boxing at a younger age than Joshua, so Joshua is playing catch up in terms of development and experience at this moment in time.

Tysons prime years were rather short because of his lifestyle, jail and other issues but Joshua as far as we know lives the life, is more stable and might have a longer prime than Tyson.

Anyway I'll stop rambling, I'd take a prime Tyson over this version of Joshua but that's not to say Joshua will not improve and have longer prime years so in a few years this might have to be revisited.

Your right, Joshua brutal KO in Round 1, hes knocked out other big people in the 1st round, Tyson is easy work he is ATG Number 1!!!!
Some of the hype Joshua gets is bizarre, seen people arguing on this that because he is bigger than Ali and he can run the 100m in 11 seconds that he would take care of Ali comfortably and is actually faster than him. These claims were before the Wlad fight. Frightening really, i think he can really go places but he has alot to learn, after 19 fights he is not an ATG that would batter Tyson around the ring. Mental.

I'm a Brit and rate Joshua highly in the current heavyweight scene and maybe rate him with a slight bit of bias but, I also watched prime Tyson in my late teens and not before or since has there been anyone to rival Tysons sheer ferocity in his prime. I think that Joshua would have his moments but would ultimately be broken down and stopped by the midway point in similar fashion to Bruno in there first fight and that was not a prime Tyson. The Tyson who ripped the title from Berbick and smashed Pinklon Thomas with a 15+ punch combination would be too much for Joshua right now...in a few years maybe Joshua will be a different animal all together.
