My brother, did I just miss something or did you inadvertently compare John L Sullivan to Muhammad Ali?

    Clinton,

Have you read the thread in it's entirety?

    There's been some hilarious posts.

Were you aware that Ali wouldn't have been faster than Joshua in the ring, as Joshua would have clearly beaten Ali in a 100m sprint?

    Ha!

Its not fair to Compare the speed of a 201-205 pounder against a 240-250 pounder.

Then you could also compare ali against the likes of Roy Jones... it gets silly.

Paqciuao is also faster than ali.

Bigger ships equals bigger guns and armor.

I would take kovalev over Khan.

    Khan's speed wont save him.

I would also like a New heavyweight division 220 pounds+

Another horrific post, just comparing numbers.

How on earth would Khan-Kovalev resemble an Ali-Joshua fight?

    Ali was a HW.

He fought and beat ATG HW's.

He's one of the greatest HW's of all time.

You cannot say Ali-Joshua would resemble Khan-Kovalev, just based on size.

    Seriously, how ignorant are you?

    Don't post anything else.

You are completely out of your depth, with no understanding of anything.

Joshua may have beaten Ali. But it wouldn't have been a foregone conclusion just because Joshua was bigger. And if you knew anything about boxing, you'd know that Ali's movement would have caused him a lot of difficulty. If you really believe that Joshua would have just stood there and jabbed him, you need to find another thread, or preferably another sport to follow.

    Enlighten me.

You wrote that Whyte caught Joshua, but he didn't hurt him like how Cooper did when he caught Ali.

    So?

What point are you trying to make?

Is that supposed to be some sort of evidence of how Ali couldn't have beaten him?

    No. You completely misunderstood.
I always say all fights are different and just because fighter A was knocked down by a light punch from fighter B doesnt mean fighter A will get KOd by massive punching fighter C.
I was mentioning how many comments have been made about Joshua taking a punch. It happens its boxing, the point I was making is that he didnt appear as hurt as some of the other examples

People should watch the Joshua/Whyte fight again. Yes Joshua got caught with a shot but he didnt go down and didnt look massively troubled when you watch it without the excitement of it being live. He wasnt wobbled like Wilder was against Molina in round 3 or badly hurt like Ali was against Cooper

Ali was a heavyweight. And so was Rocky marciano...

Neither were a modern super heavyweight 240+

Ali would be a cruiser today. 201 pounds in his prime years. Go figure...

Boxing is divided by weight classes you ignorant piece of ****.

Its basically 2 natural weight classes between ali and Joshua.

Ali got some speed yes but so does Khan.

If Joshua was a 6"2 200 pound tweener then it would be even.

Would khans movement cause trouble for kovalev aswell?

Its not exhausting to sparr against someone that weak and small compared to you.

But for some reason you dont believe in weight classes. The most basic concept in the art of boxing.

    Its a shame.

Ali was 212 at his best weight. No way he could make cruiserweight.

If Ali was nearly Ko'd by "light punching" Henry Cooper then how in the hell did he last against George Foreman? You obviously must think that Henry Cooper punches harder than Foreman then if we use logic here.

Btw the punch that Cooper hit Ali with was a left hook and it even had a nickname " 'Enry's 'Ammer"! Can't think of a light puncher who had a punch of theirs nicknamed.
