No way is he too strong, Gracie fought HW men in his time. One thing that cannot be questioned is Gracie's strength. Renzo was very good, he impressed me more than Rickson anyways. Woodley just doesn't impress me that much. I don't think his TDD is enough to keep it on the feet.
Watching that again simply emphasises how slow and plodding modern heavyweights are. All I can see is a big slow flat footed guy, moving forward mainly in straight lines, with a minimum of head movement. A low held guard upright stance and and with no more than moderate hand speed. Also taking a lot of shots from the ex kick boxer who has the same reach as Ali with about half of the speed, movement and ability. My word Joshua is tailor made for Ali.
I was watching the Ali vs Terrell fight again last night, probably the one of two fighters that come anywhere close to resembling Joshua in any shape or form. Ali kept out of range well, but was still getting hit by uppercuts, body shots, jabs and straight rights. Ali could not avoid all of Joshua's punches despite the little unhittable Ali fantasy in all your heads. If an inferior boxer like Terrell could land on Ali, so could Joshua, and unlike Terrell's light punches, Joshua would hurt Ali eventually wear him down and KO him.
Can't speak for others, but not for me. Ali does not resemble Wlad in any shape or form. Ali is a small boxing speedster. Wlad is a big highly skilled technical boxer/puncher. Josh will win though, no doubt.
If somehow you can watch Ali in the 50 inch wide screen 1080 pixel quality jumbotron, and you can only watch AJ in black/white fat bottom TV. Would that change your opinion?
@GALVATRON You really think Ali's footwork was mostly back pedaling? Look at this guy, Rush. This content is protected I see this as back pedaling. Here is Ali against Liston for comparison This content is protected Ali was in an out. Bait and counter. People have tried standing still and letting Ali come to them, and they always get messed up. Ali was back pedaling in the 5th round when he was blind, but that's understandable.
